i saw some familiar problems, like brooks over dribbling or losing the ball off someone's foot..thats why i wanna see more of ishmael smith. i think he's the only pure point on this team. and thank god for no ariza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He actually had one nice spin move in the post, then he got excited and tried two really crazy layups in traffic that went all over the place.
Lee plays sg. Martin can play sf. And, Lee has a good playing making skill. He should be great to play with Martin & AB. As you have said, Lee & Lowry are not a good combo, but Budinger & Lowry play well together.
I agree with the over-dribbling and really liking Ish Smith's passing- but there's a major problem with his shooting. He was passing up completely open jump shots, I'm afraid he really needs to be able to score when open before he's going to get a long-term spot at point. Either that or be really good defensively, otherwise he's gonna stay 3rd behind brooks and lowry, in spite of awesome passing skills.
We traded a starter for a bench player.... where our SG position is filled by KM and we are still stuck with Shane (who i know is Mr. President @ 31). Our biggest reason for trading Ariza was for Cbud. Cbud can score but our backcourt being AB + KM, we really need a tough defender at SF who is young and has length. A starting lineup of AB+KM+Cbud+Scola and 1 leg man Yao = really bad defense.
He must have made major improvements over the summer. I didn't get to watch the game, but from what I am reading here I can't wait to watch Lee in action, and I am excited to see what Hill has been working on. As to the fans screaming "fire", it was ONE PRESEASON game. This is the time for the team to work out all the kinks, so we can't expect them to come out looking like champs.
man... if I'm going to have this kind of tension about injuries.. and it's just the preseason.. I don't know if I can handle the 82 regular season games.
3 things stood out in that game: 1. Yao was on the court for the first time in 17 months. 2. Chuck was a beast! 3. We started playing some DEFENSE.
