Jeffries obviously still needs to develop.

But what I LOVE about him is the fact that he shows PASSION for the game.

You can see his frustrations when he misses a rebound or doesn't make the lay-up that he wants to come back and prove that he can do it.

The most obvious thing about him that I will always never underestimate is the fact that he is tall, he hustles, and tries to contest the shots in the paint.

I obviously would prefer a better big than him, but right now, he's our best option to have on the floor.

I don't want Hayes getting any play time. Even if it costs us games, I'd rather have Jeffries being developed this season.

Dude, would you give it your all if you knew you weren't gonna be here next year? After Landry, who was argueably our greatest player, can get traded, what makes them think they won't? Scola and Battier must have heard those rumors that they were getting traded and were in fact on their way out if it wasn't for a physical being waived. They know that they arn't in the future plans. Brooks thinks he's some sort of AI reincarnation and iso's the hell outta Martin and Scola doesn't seem to give a damn anymore. We shoulda shipped their asses out for Amare! Hope Adelman takes a good hard look at this team and whips out some ass beating on Brooks for being a selfish-ass ball hog! If Martin thinks is bad playing with Evans, boy he has no idea how bad its gonna be playing with Brooks! Mike Bibby my ass! Brooks reminds me of mini AI out there!

I think the entire team is feeling the confusion of missing key rotation players (three now) and having so many new faces. It's hard to get energized and feel camaraderie when you're suddenly surrounded by strangers.

It probably doesn't help if you feel the personnel moves seem more to help the team in the future than the current fight for a playoff spot. But given time, and with the return of Lowry and Ariza, I think they'll adjust and start clawing back up the ranking.

ibm, why are u worried? They lost to the better team. If howard doesnt play, orlando is still the better team. My bigger issue is adelman pulling a jvg. At this point, adelman should call scola, shane, and hayes into his office to say their minutes will be cut bigtime. Hill should get 20 mins at pf. Chase should get 20 at the wing. We need to display and develop those players.

I don't know how to judge the role of A. Brooks in the new team. Especially both Martin and Brooks are on the court.

Very simple. He plays without a premium backup. For now.... Reminds me of the O-fer days when he played 40 minutes and got hammered.

I still think we'll make the 7th seed despite the latest slump.

We'll get it together...and I'm usually not an optimist. This is the realist in me. We will be that 7th or 8th seed.

That's exciting for me as a fan.

What happened to Scola? I was at the game and didn't even notice that he was playing. Only 15 min?

BTW I've noticed that we ARE tanking, just unintentionally.

Dude, if you been in the league for more than 5 years and still need to "develop", then you have no business playing professional sports! Jeffries is who we all thaught he'd be! He was just a throw in to make the salaries match and nothing more and nothing less. He will be gone by the offseason and will be a figment of Rocket's imagination.

I see nothing wrong with the way Brooks is playing out there. He is one of the few players on this team that can get his own shot and he must do everything for this team. Once he plays a little more with Martin and get use to him, they will be better. The major problem with this team is the absolute nothing at the big man position besides Scola. I would be happy if Chuck Hayes and Andersen never plays again and we just develop Jordan Hill. Our "big men" just do not add up to any quality. :( :(

i am worried because we don't have a good pg in sight. and that's assuming yao coming back real strong. 1 and 5 are usually the key positions to build a real team, you know that. i feel like we need a pg better than both ab and lowry, since we're not the lakers, which have a super wing man. martin is good, but he's no kobe or melo.

agree with your post about displaying the new rockets. they need playing time both for development and potential trades in the summer.

at the beginning of the season, i said this team, assuming mcgrady doesn't come back and contribute, would win 35-40 games. looks like my chances of being right on this one are decent.

If you had watched the game, you would have seen that Scola and Hayes minutes were cut big time. Scola got less than 16 minutes and Hayes got 9 minutes. Chase got over 30 minutes at the wing.

We probably have the best PG tandem in the league, maybe 2nd now that Collison has come on in NO.

No Championship team has had a dominant PG and C since Magic/Kareem.

Cool, how do you suggest upgrading both Brooks and Martin into Chris Paul and Carmello.

    half right

Budinger has been getting an average of 20 minutes a game since the beginning of the season with the exception of late December and early January. Budinger sat on the bench in late December due to injury. He was recovering in early January. Now Budinger is averaging 24 mpg for February so far.
