Hollins is a nba lifer and has those guys playing their roles. Gasol has stepped up like I said this summer, Zach has always been a top 5 low post producer, and oj and gay are settling in. They're a good young team with room to grow and hollins seem to have their ear. I guess Gay is a winner now?

I'm telling it like I see it, lee. I'm a Rockets fan. I moved to Houston from D.C. in 2002 and started following the team because of Francis, who I grew up near in Silver Spring. I just happened to join this site while watching a Summer League game and decided to use Brooks in my moniker because he looked promising and I was tired of Alston.

The Lakers were going small down the stretch. Lowry was on the bench when it was Farmar/Brown and possibly even when it was Fisher/Vujacic. Vujacic is small to me no matter is height. Artest wasn't in the game late.

Even if there was no second small guard for a brief period (I don't recall if that was the case at all), I'd still put Lowry in there. He can defend bigger players much like Fisher did to McGrady years ago.

Regardless, Lowry impacts the game in a multitude of ways and needs to be in the game down the stretch.

Agreed on Odom. He's special. The Lakers can absorb his bad games because of their depth. When he's on, he makes them the best team in the league bar none.

Doh... don't know why I was thinking that. Brainfart I guess.

Either way, the other stuff remains true. No teams in our division below .500 and no softies. At 5 games over .500, we're closer to the bottom than the top.

good points on odom. imo he's the only player in the league who can play all 5 positions.

and he should've been the #1 pick that year.

Hello? Where were you hiding the whole December?

Kobe got his finger fractured on Dec 11th the Wolves game, then after those 2 games, he went on a scoring spree like the following: 42, 39, 29, 28, 40, 35, 38, 34, 44, 39, before finally cool down with more athletic Dallas team.

Too busy bending over for Kobe in that stretch? Come on. Give the credit where it's due.

I read your post asking if a poster played ball before... can I ask you the same question? You obviously have not seen even your teammates suddenly becomes unstoppable and can score from anywhere and even some circus shots.

Maybe you just never get the chance to play some decent ball... yet

Actually, I don't think the result would be different if Lowry was on the court in the 4th quarter. Lowry had "-3" tonight. We lost because the rockets couldn't stop Bynum.

turnovers, bricks, and rebounding, oh my!

We've been in an offensive funk the last three games. We've looked realllllly ugly and inefficient in some quarters. Hopefully it's a temporary thing and not the team finally coming down from heaven or anything.

    No big deal.

As far as Battier, I don't hate the guy. I just thought Kobe had his way with him for the most part despite the poor shooting numbers. Battier is still our best perimeter defender.

Plus, Ariza did guard Kobe for a stretch and, off the top of my head, I remember at least 3 misses during that period so not all of Kobe's misses were while Battier was covering him.

I couldn't believe how many times Kobe dared to go to his left hand with Battier on him, almost as if to say, "this is too easy." I felt bad for Battier.

I suppose this is more of a credit to Kobe than a discredit to Battier but if Batter is getting beaten like that, he needs to do more at the other end to make up for it. Other than his two 3s late, Battier was a virtual zero on offense. He made a nice pass or two but he also made several bad passes and didn't look to be aggressive when he had the opportunity. Too many passes is sometimes as bad as being a ballhog.

PJ + Bynum killed the rockets. PJ did a great job to slow down the rockets.

Lakers are way too big for us, we can't get away with the lack of size in the playoffs, lets hope Tmac brings us some talent and size...

    I laughed.

We've just got to be patient with our situation. We're a team without a single elite player playing some good, hard-nosed basketball. I don't think we can expect more than they're giving us. Nobody is slacking. Sometimes we're just not good enough. The players feel worse than we do.

Wow, larsv8 agreeing with me?! I'm excited now! As BrooksBall pointed out, Dalembert had a 20/20 game tonight and last game on Mon. Camby had 9,15, 6,3, and 3. If the 76ers are really offering Dalembert and Iggy for T-Mac, you make that trade. I know you aren't going to like this larsv8, but I think Battier at this point becomes expendable in order to get under the LT if that move is made. Even though I think he would thrive coming off the bench for 20 mpg, his production or lack there of doesn't justify his salary. Ariza is the kind of player that would fit in real well as a complimentary role player next to a playmaker like Iggy.

lowry is actually a better PG than brooks, what makes brooks over lowry is his amazing jumping shot and big 3ps.if this guy can't hit that,he would be no value for this team.brooks is too short to fight against any big ass PG.moreover his limited vision can't help him to make any easy assit to his teammates,so we must start lowry over brooks .
