If I'm Kevin Martin, I'm protesting that technical foul. He did nothing to deserve that. Stern and the refs should be ashamed of themselves.

We need a superstar to be worth a damn...not this "oh so close games".

Or at least an all-star type player.

All this does is create apathy among the fan base.

We need to play jordan hill instead of chuck hayes as backup power forward against tall teams like the lakers. Battier is useless. Idleman played brooks too long. Why not give ish ten minutes?

Like Solomon said Houston fans need to stop settling for medocrity! I'm pissed about this game. This city is not getting a championship until we get rid of one dimensional players like Battier and we get one big star that will step up at the end of games. Until then it is BS!

Can this team win 50 games? yes
Is this team really god? yes
Will they win a champioship? no, because reality is we don't have a star player in a star powered league.

And we are not the freakin Detroit Pistons or San Antonio Spurs for Christ sakes we gave up 112 freakin points tonight!!!!!!

We missed Lowry big time. Having him would've kept Brooks from tiring out in the fourth quarter.

Overall a good, hard-fought game. I also loved that the Rockets got the ball back in the end due to the instant replay rule.

I know, for a second I thought I was watching JJ. A fun game but heartbreaking, yet, I'm proud that they gave it their all in a very difficult game to win.

You are stupid, we only had 2 seconds, we had to take what the Laker defense was giving us. It was hard to just get the ball in bounds from the corner.

We lost to the defending champs on their court by 2 pts. Should be a good season.

Rockets will be allright. their rebounding looks like it's going to be league leading. i mean 20 from Yao/Miller and 16 from Scola, and none from Hayes or Lowry (injured). i think they can average over 50 per game. now they just need to work on perimeter defense.

The ball should've been thrown to Martin instead of Brooks on the last play. Martin was almost wide open

Leaving Brown and Blake wide open to beat you is inexcusable. Didn't like Adelman's second half substitution pattern, but I never do. I can never understand what he is doing with his rotations, especially late in games. Scola had a great stat line but he missed sooooo many lay ups. Brooks started pounding the ball in the second half, not good. The bottomline, the Lakers didn't win, the Rockets lost, they beat themselves. This team must learn how to protect a lead, their late game collapses are legendary. Very disappointing loss.

Now the positives, I see loads of potential. Brooks and Martin, well utilized which they weren't tonight are an offensive lightening storm. Depth is great. Defense is better. Yao will improve. They were playing the champions on their home floor. Still a shame, they could have beat them. The final play was a dud and that is another common trait of Adelman that I don't like.

This is exactly what I thought. When we called the second timeout, I was fully expecting to see Miller throwing the inbounds with Battier on the perimeter.

I have no idea what was going through Adelman's mind at that moment. I was surprised to see Battier throwing the inbounds, and even more surprised when I saw Brooks cut.

That was our game to win or lose. The sporadic lapses in D throughout the game cost us in the end.

On a good note, Yao's had a real good showing.

Bloody blake and brown had made six 3-pointers, and that is what costs us the game. if we had lowry in there defending them, the story would have been different.

well, still loads of upsides though, we showed huge potential and were able to hang with last years champs at the end of the game. it should be an exciting season.

There was enough time. Miller almost had a putback.

There are obviously some deficiencies that need to be worked out but I don't think there's anything that can't be ironed out over the long-term.

The defense needs to get better, and the Rockets can't let players like Blake and Brown become the daggers/sparks. Players that were excellent in the first half all but disappeared in the second. Too many turnovers, not enough rebounding, and what was up with all of those missed shots?

I don't really know what to think about Yao at this point. I'm don't think the Rockets can win a championship with him on the team. It is completely understandable why Morey was going for a star this offseason, and I hope that he's not done looking yet.

Well I feel Martin should have gotten the last shot off of a screen if possible. That was horrible coaching once again in the fourth quarter. Thats already a established trend. We get leads? Double digit leads at that? Adelman coaches the rotations with experimenting with players until we lose the lead. Then he puts back in what was working after we lose the lead. He is getting on my nerves already. Its like he is a great coach for 3 quarters then gets Alzheimers in the fourth quarter and his teams always fall apart. Thats the same thing that happened in Sacramento too with those Webber and Peja teams. They blew many games late exactly the same way.

Lakers had home/Stern-cooking. Scola, Yao, & Battier missing freebies.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Rockets are a better team than the Lakers.
