Ok, sure. But I didn't post these thoughts on the game thread. However, come on, whats the big deal here? Its not like clutchfans is saturated with threads.
My Thoughts on The Texans - 4-2.....has to be good right? 2 more wins than loses. - Indy coming up on Monday. We already beat them, so we have a 50% chance of beating them on Monday - Duane the Train Brown is back......correct? - I wonder what Matt Schaub is thinking right now. - Follow Arian Foster on twitter. He has good tweets. - How great would it be if the first Texas team to play in the Superbowl at Dallas Stadium is.....wait for it.........The Texans!! - It would be very great. /End Thoughts EDIT: OOPS! I wanted to create my own thread but ended up posting it in this thread, instead. It's all good though.
Despite the loss, there were some great things to take away from last night If a couple of call go the other way, they win, there was plenty of Laker love from the refs, but that has to be expected. Stuff like the tech from Martin was absurd Brad Miller is completely capable of playing 20+ minutes. The guy fits PERFECTLY. He grabs enough boards, has height on defense, and is an unbelievable passer, something that will make Adelman's offense work that much better. THIS is why PGs in Adelman's system are not required to rack up assist numbers (although to those b****ing about AB, NINE assists last night) The problems from that game are fixable. Brooks was exhausted at the end of the game with no backup to give him a rest. That hurt them down the stretch because he is the best closer on the team. That will not be a problem once Lowry is back from injury. LAYUPS will not or at least should not be a problem. Scola, a guy who is usually a beast around the rim was just off all night. Yao also missed a ton around the rim. Yao actually looked in shape. He ran the court well and looked like he was fully capable of playing 30 minutes a night. I expect his minutes to increase quite a but by the all-star break. He was also aggressive once he knew his minutes were coming close. He was demanding the ball and was going hard at the rim. Maybe he can be the closer once he gets back to full strength. His game and touch are clearly off a bit, but he was in physical shape. It also didn't help that he got ****ed over by the refs all night. (6 fouls in 23 minutes????) I also like the chemistry between Bud and Lee, they seem to play well off each other. Bud was impressive overall. He used his wingspan a good deal on defense and looked improved. Offensively, he was excellent. Not sure why he got so little time in the 2nd half.
The only statistic that hurt us in the box score is the 20 TO. Other than that we had the defending champs on their heel. We out rebound them, assist, blks, and FG percentage. If the silly tech on martin didn't counted for, we could've lost by 1. At least we didn't look like the heat throughout the game struggling.
Grade Each Rocket's game 1 Performance Aaron Brooks: A-. Shot the ball really nicely (7-16 fgs, 4-6 3pt, 6-6 FT). 9 assists. +7. Would have liked to see better defense (0 steals) but solid. Kevin Martin: B+. 26 Points in only 29 Minutes, Shot pretty well from the field. Took some premature shots but oh well. 4 Turnovers hurt, as did defense, but oh well. Shane Battier: B. Highest +/- on the team. Shot poorly from the field, but Kobe didn't do much, so that's always a plus. Luis Scola: B+. Luis could have had a monster game, but so many plays at the rim didn't fall in. Only 7-18 from the field, but 16 rebounds is always nice. Yao Ming: C+. I realize the big fella is still working his way back, but 4-11 from the field shows his touch wasn't really there. +/- was -6. Tough to D up against Pau in your first game. Brad Miller: B-. I was really surprised to see the statline of Brad Miller +4 while Chuck Hayes was a -9. Brad was who we thought he'd be: slow feet (Pau took advantage of this), good passer, but a couple of key turnovers didn't help. Should be a decent backup, but I personally would have prefered to see Chuck in there a bit more, especially considering Bynum is out. Courtney Lee: C+. Even though he was worst on the team with a -14, he seemed to provide a good spark. 3 steals helped, as did 0 turnovers. Chase Budinger: B. Good all around play from Air Bud, who looks likes he's picking it up right where he left off last season. Ish Smith: C-. In only 5 minutes was a -11. We needed Kyle Lowry. Rick Adelman: A. I thought the team was very well coached, and that we made substitutions at all the right times. Show your grades:
Exactly.....last night same number of FT attempts as the Lakers. Brad Miller got a late over the back call...is he a superstar now ? DD
guys, please calm down. this was a great game. our rockets surprised us big time with our potential. lakers looked like crap until shannon brown n blake went f**ning crazy hitting threes. we need LOWRY back A.S.A.P. u think martin is defensive liability. If lowry was in, shannon freakin brown wouldn't have gotten those three point shots wide open. one game people. i remember the spurs were witnessed to a three point contest by our lovable ex-rocket early in the 2004-2005 season and they had no problem contending for a championship. this team is a contender, i don't think any team in the west other than us has a shot of beating the lakers. P.S. play jordan hill , RA!!
There's a reason for that. Mods close or merge the 4 or 5 threads like this that appear daily because they don't deserve their space.
Y'all need to relax. He made a thread.. So what ? Anyways, I can't believe how bad Battier looked last night. That layup attempt is evidence that he has lost all offensive game. Honestly, he looks likes a scrub out there.
Funny moment from the game: Guy getting snubed during the ring ceremony  <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kdaKXdDpgUg?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kdaKXdDpgUg?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
hahah, yea...and i do want to see J Hill get some play time..man..we are so deep..how do we rotate lol..i think the rotation helps a lot for back to backs tho.
If you posted a poll you would see just how moronically stupid that post of yours was...and continues to be. DD
Despite the loss, i just gotta say that our team looks scary! KevMart and Brooks combo is the shiznit!
They were AB and Martin. Martin was not even near Brown, a 10 point lead is nothing if you can not guard somebody.
Aaron Brooks - A- (he just got too tired at the end with no sub, but he took over the game when he needed to and made plays) Kevin Martin - B- (not as good as his stats would indicate, was a complete no show in the 4th quarter) Shane Battier - C+ (Defense was decent, not great and offense was horrible) Luis Scola - B- (played horrible for a large stretch of the games, missed defensive assignments, lots of missed layups. He did turn it on in the 4th quarter and redeamed himself) Yao Ming - B (Ran the court well, was aggressive, rebounded well, but clearly his game was a bit off, exceeded my expectatinos) _________ Chase Budinger - B+ (Played great offensively and improved defensively, needed more playing time) Courtney Lee - B (Had some good moments and hussle plays, had a few mental lapses, just needs to learn system a bit better) Brad Miller - A (EXCELLENT signing, fits the system perfectly. Passing was unbelievable, it was enough to earn him an A) Rest of the guys didnt play enough to grade
