Aaron brooks and Kevin Martin combined are literally night and day. Offensively they look amazing together, especially in that first half. with his ability to drive, Aaron can set up Martin for a lot of 3s like we saw briefly in the 4th tonight. on defense though, their defensive awareness is incredibly low. I don't want to say the game was lost due to one or two plays but 2 plays that stood out to me featured how their Defensive awareness killed us 1. Time running down on shot clock shannon brown receives the ball at the 3pt line, kevin martin lazily closes out arms down with no recognition of the shot clock. Shannon makes the 3, and we all saw how that got him going for the rest of the game 2. with 30 seconds to go the lakers have possession. because they started with 30 secs there must be another rockets possession barring an offensive rebound. kobe drives and kicks to steve blake. during kobe's drive aaron brooks is posted on the lowblock, no where near his man, ball watching kobe drive and kick for the eventual game winner.
Your making assumptions I never stated. I said the refs called a bad game. Said we could make a trade and your assuming Rick Adelman doesnt want a upgrade somwhere in his lineup. Your attacking passive aggressively. Try not to over analyze me and stay on the Rockets. The Rockets need better players at the SF position. You see how that was reasonable and not about you?
Fortunately no . . . I would have flipped my lid! At the diner I was eating it was down all game long. The captions were funkie and did not explain it. Rocket River
I was responding to your post about people "defending" the refs and players. I assumed you were referring to those posts where people said the refs probably didn't fix the game, and the people who want to see Battier demoted from the starting lineup. Sorry if I misunderstood to whom your post was addressed. By the way, I usually don't respond to people's grammar, but you just used "your" incorrectly in three out of your seven sentences.
When you up 15 . . .and the refs gives the other team 10 It is easy to say the other 6 pts are the 'REAL REASON' you lost but it ain't Getting Jobbed is Getting Jobbed If not jobbed. . you not only up 1 with less than a minute to go See getting JOBBED is not necesarily about the refs WINNING the game for the other team . . . it is about making the game close and putting the other team in position to be able to win Alot of games you get JOBBED and still win you know it is wrong but don't give a isht because u won. what stood out to me was playing martin on kobe in the 2nd and 3rd quarters(not sure when exactly). when he picked up his fourth "foul" where he touched kobes pinky that was on the BALL, not a foul. once martin went out of the game the lakers could put more pressure on brooks, and he struggled during that stretch.
Lakers + referee barely beat Rockets tonight. Minus the referees, Rockets would've spank them Fakers.
Thanks. For the grammar policing. i have a real fast computer with real fast Internet. i never look to check my spelling since i can respond so quick. its kind of pointless when most people get your point even if you spell wrong.
We all do, but we don't all assume the same result when practically the whole team has changed in a year and half the rotation hasnt been around for half of one. You're overreacting, it's the first game of a long season, where where we faced the #1 team on their floor, after receiving their rings...can't get much tougher than that during the regular season. and guess what? We almost beat them.
Yes but thats you same line after every game. Preseason as well talking with you guys. its always its preseason, dont blame the refs, we dont need superstars, we almost won. When are some of you people gonna have a killer instinct? LOL! Anyways i almost calmed down. Almost got through this post without spelling errors. You should applaud me for my failure in getting all the way there.
Seems like we lost because of toughness! This was our game! Wonder if Lowry wouldve made a difference.
I don't think he makes as big as a difference as a lot of people think, but in a 2 point loss, he very well could have been the difference between a W and a L.
Hayes really should NOT be guarding Odom, Jefferies should be so much better with the length. Also Yao Missing what seemed to be a WIDE OPEN 1 foot shot cost us dearly. I mean comeon, your 7'6, bricking open shots at the rim should NOT happen. Also I want to LOL at Artest failing at the Fastbreak 1 on 1 layup against Aaron brooks(I think TWICE).
it was a good game and I definitely liked what I saw aside from shannon brown lighting us up. imagine when everyone has more time to gel.
