Le sigh...anyone think we can eke out a win tomorrow? Bench needs to step up since our starters are prolly gassed.
No, he signed for more overall than the Rockets could offer him. Considering he was after $90M from the Nuggets before the lockout the Rockets were always going to be just leverage for him
Bud is worth keeping. Trade Martin. Keep Scola. Throw Hill/tWill/dragic combo in Martin trade if it nets us Rudy Gay/iggy/Granger caliber wing player. Bud is a decent defender against certain styles of wings. Martin is not getting to the line because of new rule / trade? He needs to go.
There is only one thing in the world uglier than Steve Blake's mug...and that is Jordan Hill's jumper. ugh
Sure would have been nice for Kevin Martin to actually give a damn during the 4th quarter. He wanted no part of it tonight... none.
Martin and scola cannot play on the same starting rotation. Both are not good defenders. Both do little else except score. So one of them has to be trade bait this year.
This is the mediocrity treadmill folks. Good enough to compete, but not talented enough to really go anywhere other than being a low playoff seed and getting knocked out in the first round or just missing the playoffs and having a low lottery pick and selecting another nice, but not elite player.
Who's talking about that? Does that seem realistic to you? Boy you're in for a long wait if you are waiting to get that one guy who will automatically contain the Bynum we're seeing right now => If he keeps it up, we're talking Lakers back in the finals. If the trade went down I believe we would have had more than the 13.5 mill he took, correct me if I'm wrong.
Amen! You can't blame the Rockets players. They're hardworking and hustles. It's just that we don't have the talent on this team to take us to that next level. We have a borderline All Star in Lowry and we got a great role players in Scola and K-Mart. That's about it.
Lowry is the only untouchable player on the team. He's at an all-star level (and still getting better) for a bargain contract of 3yr/17.5 mil.
The Rockets had their best run in the game going small ball. I wouldn't blame McHale he needs another C he can work with.
Anyways I'm over the refs, we lost for a number of different reasons. -Martin played like garbage. Seriously it looked like he was finally back after the Atlanta game but he was useless. -Scola at the 5? McHale's small ball worked in the 2nd quarter but eventually Luis Scola playing center and guarding Andrew Bynum wasn't going to work out so well. -Jacking up three. Yes, we weren't getting any calls but at least try to be aggressive or find better shots instead of giving up and jacking long bombs. -We didn't utilize the pick and roll enough in the 4th quarter, it was working beautifully in the first three quarters. -Our starting lineup can't play defense, this has been known before the season even started. Martin/Scola/Bud can't be on the floor together for long. -More Samuel Dalembert time would have been useful, Jordan Hill was useless against the Lakers monster frontline. -Somebody help out Lowry! Sometimes it felt like he was the only Rocket playing. -Crash the boards, Lowry had 10 rebounds and the next leading rebounder was Luis Scola/Dalembert/Lee with 5 rebounds apiece.
