We still live by the 3 and die by the 3. 7-24 29% As long as we keep shooting 20+ 3 pointers per game, we need to hit 40-50% or we are going to continue to have tight games.
Now people are starting to see what I've been complaining about with Ariza. With him forcing bad shots and wasting possessions all night long, Aaron Brooks was the only person in the backcourt capable of doing something decent with the ball. All the Lakers had to do on defense was trap Brooks, force the ball out of his hands and let Ariza do his thing and the offense imploded. Every time. Man I knew the Rockets were going to really miss Budinger tonight, and every time Ariza touched the ball, I was painfully reminded why.
Having your leading scorer in the game(Landry) sitting on the bench for about ten minutes(Final 6 minutes of the 4th, and first 3.5 minutes of OT) was just plain stupid.
The biggie tonight was double teaming Kobe. I think that was the biggest mistake. I would have made him score 60. You can't come over and double him when you have no weak side shot blockers. He was giving Battier the business tonight, but that is Kobe. Make him beat you by himself. Bynum had 17 and how many of those were from posting up? Most of his stuff was gotten off of Kobe double teams. Would have also been nice to see The Chuck Wagon get a couple of opportunities at Kobe.
great game we play as a team we miss budinger that would be a few points and of course yao and the sixman tracy mc grady we have a bright future
TOTALLY aggree! It also didn't help that the Refs screwed us over ONCE again but i cant make that as an excuse. AB just didnt look like himself today. Either he was being too aggressive and turning the ball over or just didnt attack. Didnt seem like he could make up his mind on what he wanted to do tonight. But i'm still proud of these boyz. They're definitely gonna start getting some recognition soon.
True, having a 2nd playmaker helps, but doesn't change the fact Brooks will shave off too much time off the shotclock when he's trapped or turnover the ball... When he finally got the ball to Ariza on the last possession, it was at the top of the key with less than 10 seconds remaining. You can't create panicked and stressful situations for crucial possessions. A good PG will be in control of the game situation and tempo in clutch times, and not create a dysfunctional possession.
Some of those turnovers happened because he was left to make something out of nothing with time winding down and i dont mean just at the end...sometimes no one was moving or going to him and he'd get trap, had to throw a bad pass...he didn't play well, but it wasn't all on him..
rockets played really good, minus some turnovers, but what really cost us the game? well i think every1 knows the answer to that REFS
