The "waiting for double team" strategy for Yao baffles me. "Waiting for the double team" means he is not double-teamed yet. Why wait? Any time there is an opportunity for Yao to go one-on-one, he should take it.

That's so true, they are better. You don't just rely on one or two players to be sitting on top of the league.

It was a painful loss but a great learning experience.

While Yao did not have a good game, as fans we should not be jumping up and down crazily asking for his head. We should give him the best support we can and hope he does better next time.

I went through Clutch archives the other day and Yao have been serving us well for many years, played many clutch games, did many great things. To say and write the things some posters on this board said and wrote, is disheartening and shows a great level of disrespect. Does anyone remember the Yao who dominated the Cavs? Hello?

Winning sometimes is not everything. Learning from the defeat and get better is.

It's really funny to read all the " you are 7'6, you are suppose to..." posts.

Guess what? You are not suppose to have good skills and have soft shooting touch being 7'6 too.

    What's your point?

I think it is more than their fingers - a great number of pointy heads and puny brains are also sticking out.

If the Lakers was an easy beat, we would be the team sitting on top of the league, not them. They also have a great road record and a player named Kobe.

If anything we have been an overachieving team so far this year. We will still get better and make it a good playoffs series against any team and that's what I wanted to see. ;)

Dude, basketball is not 1on1, it's 5 on 5 game.
At the end of the day, it's the team who scored more points wins. It doesn't matter it's ISO or P&R

So basically you're saying we live and die by the three. That mentality won't lead to a championship with this roster. Maybe not even a 2nd round.

Once again, ARtest thinks he is the best player in the NBA and he of course failed. We can even have a 50 pt lead and we can lose the game in the end. It is pretty sad.

They Rockets are not making Adjustments and Ron needs to calm down.

I don't feel that bad about this loss. The Rockets did make some bad decisions, but hopefully the Rockets can learn from them. The Lakers are a good team; they were bound to get the game close again after haftime.

IMO, the Rockets lost this game after Artest and Kobe had their little shuffle. From that point on, the game sort of became a Artest vs. Kobe battle. Artest gave into it... and of course Kobe wins that matchup because he is the MVP. Artest should not have gave into playing one-on-one with Kobe, because IMO the Rockets as a team could beat Kobe's Lakers. Ron needs to prove that his team is better instead of trying to carry the whole team on his shoulders because there is no way he can outplay Kobe (at least offensively).

I think this type of game is winnable. The role players Lowry, Landry, Wafer, and Brooks really played well. It just all comes down to execution... and the Rockets didn't execute well this game.

You live by the 3 you die by the 3.

That only works well when you have dominant center like Hakeem(during the championship years) and Shaq(during his Magic days). Because dominant centers open up the floor for the shooters.

On a night like this game where Yao played like he was playing basketball with his wife on the bed, the lakers only double team Yao softly leaving not much room for the shooters coupled with lakers' length and athleticism the rockets still shot so many 3 pointers only shown that the team did not have much offensive plan!

I hate how every loss, everybody blames Ron. I'm glad we got a guy like Ron who ain't afraid of Kobe, and somebody who gets physical, that is why in the past everybody wanted to play us cause we were soft. He gives 120% every game which is also curse as it is his gift. A loss is a loss, everybody wants to give Von Wafer a 6 yr deal cause he has a good 4th quarter against the Lakers. Wafer hadn't played like this since a month ago. He just plays really good against his old team. It was a total team loss, 23 turnovers. Ron had 6 to's as also 6 steals, and I think his shot struggled cause he was busting his ass trying to guard Kobe. I hope Ron gets physical again with him in LA next month and hopefully shut up all the Ron haters. Resign Ron, trade T-mac. We still got a high seed right now, so just accept it. We'd be down with the suns with Tracy playing.

exactly it was going for him, so why would he take like 100 shots. also taking it personal with kobe only gets him fired up which that he did.
