And why does Artest controls the ball? He is not the PG.

A healthy McGrady would have helped in this game. He knows how to create his own shot.

great first half, but the lakers came out to play in the 2nd. we got exposed badly tonight. yao can't grab rebounds or seal off his man. battier still can't score. artest played hard on defense but he got frustrated in the 2nd which is udnerstandable.

yao had way too many rebounds go right through his hands.

Don't they coach him how to pull down a board and wrap your arms around it???

I would only have to say the Rockets got the Lakers at a bad time--with the Lakers coming into this game after a bad loss.

And that's all on the current coaching staff. The old regime basically taught Yao everything he knows currently in the NBA... how to fight off to get position, the hook shot, the pick and roll, how to play 1-on-1 defense....

What has Yao added to his game the last two years with Adelman and co.?? Absolutely nothing. Years 2-4 featured subtle but noticeable IMPROVEMENTS... and even got him to be aggressive for not just an entire game but stretches of games.

He's regressing because the current staff expects him to be able to do it by himself. He can't. He needs to be taught, drilled, remediated, tutored every second of every day until his body (or his mind) decides he can't take it anymore.

Yao wasn't born to be a basketball player... he was "created" into one by coaching at every level. To stop doing that now, and simply tell him to "do it himself" is doing everybody a disservice, including Yao.

Great game by our reserves... and Scola.

Yao choked, he will never be a 20-10 guy on a winning team because he is a matchup problem against any PF-C who can step out and shoot.

This game shows again why Yao will never ever be a great player: he chokes under pressure EVERYTIME!!!
Shane is too overated on defense.

How comes you guys are letting Adelman off the hook on this one, we were up 14 pts, Fakers were making a run, Brooks and Artest were sucking balls and Adelman just refused to sub in the 2nd unit to stop the run!

Artest is definitely a weak link. He can't be trusted out there. As the stakes get higher, his mind gets weaker. His head might just explode in the playoffs. Dude lives on the edge at all times.

Adelman played lowry too long. Aaron brooks was getting by fisher at will.Aaron should have been involved more the lakers don't defend penetration we kept going into Yao and our game plan became to predictable.
