As I have posted earlier, I have given up on Yao 2 seasons ago. He is what he is and I expect nothing more or nothing less. His lack of killer instinct is what seperates him from being a great player to average. He just doesn't have it in him to become great. Be that as it may, he is the best center in the current NBA season and Rockets just need a D Wade to beat teams like LA.

Gotta agree with Almu that Yao has to attack double teams more and to be decisive when doing so. The strange thing is, some games Yao makes that decision and on other nights, like tonight, he hesitates and acts like a pansy only to get stripped or to throw the ball away. I think it's a mental issue, and as Nick said in one of the other threads, without someone like Thibodeau around to beat it into him, Yao's only gonna regress more. Especially since Adelman seems intent on limiting his touches.

Theres only one thing left to do for the Rockets, revolve their team around Wafer for 4 qtrs, and just roll with it

Exactly. This game's loss is 50% Addledman and 50% divided equally between Yao Ming, Artest and Shane. He got outcoached, plain and simple.

Yup,that's absolutely bad start of the 3rd.In the 2nd when RA sent in the 2nd unit,we did play well with more passion and took the lead at the half. Our starters just gave up the lead easily.

Yao +/- -18 it's enough to read the story of tonight's game. Another story is Yao "Muresan" Ming starting the 3rd quarter and going to the bench with 8' remaining in the 4th. 16 straight minutes there doing nothing except bad things with is butter hands. Adelman need to understand what, how and when, players must be used. It was pretty obvious Yao wasn't the right player to be on the court so long tonight.

    1) Everyone on here is bipolar
    2) Yaos defense today was bad but he is still the best player on the team
    3) Adelman needs to talk to Artest about how he doesn't need to and can't take over at the end of games. 0-8 from the 3pt line is ridiculously awful
    4) Battier looked bad tonight. I expect him to bounce back versus Charlotte. He is still the one of the best defenders in the league. Don't forget about that game versus Cleveland or that block he had on Chauncey vs Denver the other day.
    5) Looks like Wafer is finding his touch again. Its nice to see that he can also drive
    6) Does anybody know what the call was on Artest with 2:11 left in the game when they called a foul on Artest and Gasol got to shoot two free throws even though he wasnt shooting (in fact, Pau didnt even have the ball. He was setting a pick for Kobe) and it wasnt the bonus.
7)Calm down, we're still the 3rd seed in the West

This team's play tonight really told me a lot. The Rockets are not as good as I thought they were. Not to mention how frustrating it is that throughout the entire game, rebound after rebound was given up to the Lakers for 2nd and 3rd opportunities. This team I don't think can make it past the first round now.

I really thought this team had turned the corner, but man, was it me or did the Rockets look uninspired out there? They did not look quick nor did I see a lot of hustle (esp on rebounds).

Let the Rockets play out the rest of the regular season, but I do not think this group will succeed in the playoffs. They give up too many rebounds in a game due to lack of athleticism or whatever.

They're probably going to bounce back from this game like they always do, but that really is fools gold. This team is unbelievably atrocious at collecting defensive boards on a consistent basis.

If there was one factor that stands out attributing to the Rockets loss tonight it is REBOUNDING. This has been a season long problem and I just don't see it changing unfortunately. Yao is a major culprit in this matter. He's too slow and unathletic. This team needs to rebuild.

Yao needs to seal off his man when he post up. He also needs to stop reacting to the double team so damn late.

That´s fair, althought i think Battier has less fault than Yao and Artest, he almost didn´t play in the end.

Rocket should trade yao for champion. Yao is the cancer. with him our team plays like a old man. Please let WAFER be starter instead of YAO. Scolar and landry are enough for us.

Kobe is a slippery player to defend. Shane Battier and Ron just cannot contain him tonight.

Guys... the Rockets have one strength that is constant and reliable and must always be exploited: SCOLANDRY.

When Scolandry is involved the Rockets flourish, when they are relegated to spectators for the me-mac types the Rockets sink. These guys are efficient and tough. Pass them the dam ball!!!

On top of that, we have young guards that can attack the basket, score and draw fouls: Brooks, Lowry and Von Wafer. Why not go to them in the 4th? They have sunk many big shots in their young careers. Why let, Artest, who has minimal ability to get himself open, call his own number again and again?

Dude, any level headed fans on here would tell you to STFU. Yao is still the best player for the Rockets.
