EXACTLY. When we had 9 points up on the Knicks...all we had to do was not take bad shots, extend the lead and the Knicks would have given up and let the game end. The Rockets let teams hang in every game and then wonder why the other team is hustling all over the place trying to win the game. Rockets give these teams HOPE to win the game, if they break their will early they would have given up. No matter how good the team is, their will can be broken. Just look at Sunday's games... Celtics and Lakers both cruise past strong opponents. Rockets...well they had a 15 point lead nearly twice and blew it...twice. 9 point lead in the 4th...blow it by taking bad shots...they let it dwindle and gave the Knicks hope... Next thing you know Robinson is stealing the ball and shouting like they just won a game seven and Tmac and the Rockets are like "Dang....oh well...we'll win Wednesday..."
I like the attitude too...but the Rockets going on the road against sub .500 teams and losing close games is a trend.
TMac and Ron have been out for a while...I'll give them a little more time to adjust. This one is on Adelman for failing to adjust, but he might have done it to make a ponit.
yes i over reacted but come on,if you come to china, you wont be like you are where you are now after all we are on the same planet
Fans are angry because they thought this time around it would be different. They thought this team has improved and learnt from the previous past games. But obviously sometime you just can teach old dogs new tricks. Now do you understand the frustration? And time is ticking.
Blame this one on Artest. His play is so pathetic this season. All of his career numbers are way down. I want the Sacramento Artest.
yes just get over it ,its just a regular season game we need to look ahead and work harder just to experiment the joy of being champions
wasn't much energy for us in the 4th quarter, i still didn't see why adelman waited so long to put t-mac and ron back into the game, i woulda had at least one of them out there on the court just to try to secure the lead, but hey, losses happen, even to the best nba teams.
Late game execution and Ron Artest poor shooting..Ron Artest had one of his best games wit da rockets last night..so clearly it was juss an effect on the back-to-back or something.. That late Tmac airball i think he got fouled...not sure though
It pains me greatly to see Ron Artest channeling the black hole powers of the great Kevin Willis.... Good gawd, Tru Warier! Stop jacking 3s (1-10!), stop playing one-on-one when you are Tru(ly) great only in your own mind, and please don't exagerate the ankle limp to explain your horrible shot selection and gambling on defense. I swear that Wafer needs to play more at the expense of Ron/Tracy. Whichever one is sucking it up should be pulled for more Von.
i didn't get to watch the 2nd half but saw the 1st and noticed that the offense sucked with Grady and Ron and the 2nd unit gave them the lead. Something has to be done and I think I would get rid of Ron before Grady. im pisssed
Why the hell was Artest allowed to shoot the ball? Why wasn't Brent put into the game when we needed him most? Why did our halftime leading scorer (Carl Landry) barely play any lick of time in the second half? Why wasn't Dike in the game? Where the supposed lockdown defense? When will Artest to freaking pass the ball? I'm waiting for answers...but on a positive note, this was a back to back and Tracy/Ron just came back from injuries. It is tough trying to develop chemistry when 1 or 2 of the 'Big 3' are out, but we did show some develop tonight. Tracy seems to starting to get back to his old self, he was excellent when driving into the lane and kicking it back out. Got to give some love to Scola, he has been playing some of the best big man basketball these past few games. His post defense is meh but he has been very crafty on offense and grabbing a bunch of boards. Rafer Alston...did pick up a few games ago but now he seems like once again the worst starting point guard in the league. Tracy and Ron do deserve some blame here but how come no one has mentioned our terrible PG play? This game could have easily been ours had Rafer played the slightest bit decent. Aaron was good offensively tonight but good God his defense is awful. Duhon and Nate were just getting past him with ease for easy buckets, same to Rafer. Both were terrible defensively...I'm getting tired of every other point guard just tearing us apart night in and night out. I'm seriously starting to consider a Ron Artest for Kirk Hinrich type deal. Hinrich T-Mac Battier Scola Yao Puts the team back into the hands of Tracy and Yao but we at least get a good point guard, who can knock down shots consistently and play good defense.
Its January and the Rockets are 10 games above .500, 5th seed, beaten the Hornets, Celctics, Magic, Jazz, had Lakers, and haven't had our 5 starters play together for more then a handful of games. I think this team has overachieved, we've had one of the hardest schedules so far and big chunk of road games. Now we play like 10 of next 13 games at home and never leave the central time zone until March. Who cares that we lost to sorry teams, we ain't gonna be playing them in playoffs. Rockets step it up when they play the elite teams, unlike we used to do in past seasons. Championships aren't won in January, give the Rockets time to gel, this team is gonna be ok, Rockets won a championship as 6 seed, so im not to concerned about seedings, I think Rockets can play against anybody in west. can't freak out because of a loss in January, everybody goes nuts when we win a game, then wanna trade everybody after a loss, make me laugh. Can't wait to see this BBS blow up once we hit our stride. Gotta Believe!
Ron is turning out to be the type of player where he needs to dominate the ball in order to be effective. Now put Tracy and Yao together on the same court with Ron. Chemistry killer right there.
