In a night like this one, I do not understand why you criticize Brooks more than Martin. It was Brooks that kept rockets in the game, while Martin could not do anything right (worst shooting and most turnovers).
sucks that Temple had to be let go because of the numbers game conroy is no where near ready to be a backup PG in the nba brooks is going to be playing a lot of heavy minutes until Kyle gets back..Temple was at least capable of producing adequate in 10-12 minutes on the floor... Lowry needs to get back and fast, we win this game with Lowry even if he doesnt score his rebounding and defense would have stopped at least some of those 2nd chance points. great to see carl i really do miss that guy in my eyes he will be a Rocket 4 life wherever the rest of his NBA Career takes him but I do wish somehow he ends up back in Houston. very sloppy basketball early, sure the kings got some bounces and had a bit of luck but they helped their case 100 fold by being quicker to the ball tonight and it was the Kings who were on the 2nd night of a back to back. a lot of missed free throws tonight especially late which hurt the rockets chances a note about jeffries but has this guy dunked the ball yet? liked clyde said (and you know its bad when clyde actually makes a smart basketball observation) he is just flipping the ball up there, even in his first big game against the hornets he got the ball a few times wide open underneath and instead of dunking he just layed it in. He missed some shots tonight that he should have just dunked. The guy is 6'11 he needs to go up strong that way with it. Jeffries needs to work as hard as possible in the offseason on his FT stroke i think a lot of this layup mentally comes from that he can get it off quicker than a dunk and has a less chance of getting fouled and going to the line that way. The guy looks totally unconfident at the line and his FT form isnt too bad. I dont expect him to be a contributer on offense but when you have a dunk....DUNK IT!
What is everybody so mad about? We are not a good team without Ariza and Lowry in the rotation. It's as simple as that. This team doesn't have any 'we should blow them out' games without the full compliment of players. We have had 2 10 day contracts playing backup PG. Trying to replace what we get from Lowry. IMPOSSIBLE! Say what you will about Ariza, but he sure is missed in the rotation, especially now with Martin. Yeah we needed to win the next 5 games, so now we just have to get a win against one of the better teams we got coming up. If Ariza and Lowry are back by then we have a chance. Calm down! Temper your expectations, still have games to play.
This was definitely one of the most frustrating games ever both Martin and Aaron had a bad game but I'm tired of seeing Aaron choke in the 4th quarter.. we need lowry big time, I also like seeing him getting involved and coaching Brooks on how to play like a pg
Ok, what do those 15+ games have to do with this one? Aaron Brooks missed this free throw, and you reply by saying "If you want to be a star, you have to finish what you started." I seriously doubt you would say that exact statement had it been LeBron James missing the free throw. Why? Because being a "star" has nothing to do with making that free throw. Well then you have no idea what you are talking about. It's a 48 minute game. There are a lot of things that happen during those 48 minutes that could mean the difference between winning and losing. To blame the loss on AB simply because he missed that FT is completely unfair (and stupid) to him, ESPECIALLY considering the was the main reason the Rockets were in that position in the first place. If you asked Shane Battier or Chuck Hayes, or anybody else in the NBA about that, I guarantee they say the same thing.
neither had a great game. brooks shot 9-25 from the field, 1-2 from the stripe (one of being a critical FT). martin shot 3-13 from the field, which is even worse, but he did hit 7-8 from the stripe. by calculations, both had a true shooting percentage of 42%. both are probably similarly deserving of criticism. brooks missing a critical free throw is especially frustrating.
Because Sac Kings is a lottery team and play back to back. stop reminding Ariza and Lowry....stop finding excuses....
Sometimes I have to wonder, does Rick Adelman even care these days? He has been terrible since right before the all star break.
