Scola should have gotten the ball more often tonight. Is it just me or Scola has shouted "Pass the BALL" to Artest more than once in the last couple of games? Have you noticed any of this? Artest can be so exasperating at times...
Ron think he's the player like Kobe or Lebron So he takes the shots like they take, that will take a little more time for him to realise the situation is different and changes are needed sometimes
I cringe every time Ron brings the ball up the court. The dude is a complete nutcase when it comes to how he see's himself (skills wise). Scola needs to demand the damn ball. Overall, that was one very lackluster performance. Boring game. Rockets didn't deserve to win it. Utah at home is a completely different team. I hope we play any body but them in the playoffs. BTW....fwiw, I didn't notice too many flops last night like last time we played them.
Aldeman you suck! Scola is never utilized vs the Jazz, Scola shows up basically against every other team, he needs to run plays for him. Landry would of helped last night as well.
Seems that the Rockets share our hatred of the Jazz, because they were not focused at all. Wafer and Brooks were rushing way too much... I had faith in the Rockets when they pulled within 4 points with 5 minutes left in the game... but the Jazz made us pay for every mistake we made from there on. I really don't want to face the Jazz in the playoffs because I'm not on the "hell yes we can beat them" wagon. But if we do happen to play them, and do beat them, we shouldn't have much of a problem winning it all. God, I hate the Jazz.
the only thing i hate more than the jazz are fairweather fans...seriously, why even bother posting here just to say you're unhappy and you're not even going to watch the team?
It just seemed like we were playing Jazz's game and not ours. Ron.. I can't be mad at him, I like how hes willing to take shots and the fact that some of the shots go in but man, wasn't he like 5 for 22? I am very impressed of our Battier did though, and I like how we were down like 11 by the half and we caught up quickly.
Alright folks let's break down why the Utah Jazz make us wear our sunday dress and red lipstick when we play them. (basically their bit%$) 1. We have no answer for Dwill-The guy dominates consistently against us. RA needs to either double team him and force someone else to make plays or let him score and become extremely aggressive in the passing lanes. 2. Confidence- The Jazz have a mental edge, its like when you play Street Fighter 2 and you keep beating the same guy over and over even though he's just as good, you end up suprising yourself and feel bad for the guy after 10 quarters...........some guys over 30 can relate. 3. We get out coached-How many times do you scream at the t.v when Yao doesn't get the ball or when Wafer tries to turn into Jordan and take the game over. RA must keep the team focused and preach to feed the ball through Yao and for god sakes what happened to cutting to the basket? Oh how about using that 7'2 guy warming up the pine everygame? Things seem to go right when Deke's in there. Defense+confidence=22 game winning streak!! Also..........there's a tall guy on the bench that's an automatic 3 point shooter..........hmm. Could work. 4. Rebounds-It cost us the last 2 playoff series..........Okur anyone? We must control the boards especially on the offensive glass. Having Landry out and our best rebounder on the bench hurts........ 5. Get to the line-The Rox are one of the best at free throw percentage (finally) take the ball to the hole and draw fouls put the pressure on them. Put them in foul trouble and the flops magically disappear!! Utilize Ron Ron who in the league can stop him in the paint consistently? All in All-would be nice if we had a healthy roster, its not like we're missing Tracy Mcgrady (Jazz killer) and Carl Landry...........probably wouldn't make a difference............ Oh can someone photoshop a pic of the white face "jack the ripper" off of puppet master and put it on AK47's face? Those two could be brothers!! Just my two cents................Food for thought, does anyone else think that Avery Johnson would be a perfect coach for this team?
Gah, on one of the few nights lately when Battier has a good game (points wise, he's always clutch on defense), the rest of the team can't step up and back him up! And I agree to a certain extent, Landry would have helped us out alot, especially since Scola wasn't doing much. Man, that was just a weird game to watch all together.
I have been saying that forever... It is not like he is only joking that he is better than LeBron. He really thinks he is. I know, he's had some great game. But when he sacrafices this offense we usually play well. But when he starts playing like the best player ever (in his head) he starts jacking up shots (22 attempts is way too much). I can understand that sometimes you just can't buy baskets even if you are WIDE OPEN. But when you say after a game like that 'We did ok, that's what we should do' than I guess something is wrong.
I wouldn't mind seeing a thread with opinions on the "current state of the players". My reaction to this game and the "current state": Ready for prime time: Scola, Landry and Hayes. Not ready for prime time: pretty much everybody else. (If I had more time I'd detail this section a bit more.)
Problem with last night's game. Yao didn't do enough, he needs to demand the ball and take control of the game. He needs to shoot 20+ shots every night. Ron Ron tried to do too much. He was forcing his game. I think Adelman needs to run more individual plays for him, whether it be a jump shot off of a screen, pick and roll, or post up. He wasn't playing within the flow of the offense. Von Wafer also forced his game last night. He needs to know when to push it. Kyle Lowry just had an off night, those strong drives to the basket he'd been making and finishing just wasn't going down for him last night. I think that messed up his confidence in this game. Positives: Defense was solid most of the game. Thats the only thing that kept us in the game. Chuck hayes has really stepped up in the absence of Landry, in my opinion. Aaron Brooks played a sold game, he took big shots and made several. He stepped up to the challenge against one of the best PGs in the league. I also think that he did a better job of defending him, compared to Tony Parker. Bottom line, defense wins championships, and that is something that we have. This team also has the role players to win a championships, the only thing lacking is a superstar that can oppose his will and absolutely take over a game. I really haven't seen that this season from either Yao or Ron. Especially against championship caliber teams like Lakers, Boston, San Antoion. With exception to the cavs game, I think Yao was big in that game. Some one please give our super stars a pep talk. Deke? And by the way, I hope to GOD that we do not play the Jazz in the first round!!
jazz's body makes us lost our mind and focus.. at the 4th quarter, we were just out of control and forgot to pass the ball..!! We lost on our PG and our patience~ and shame on Jazz's rude play!!!!
Rockets will be okay, but it shows how much we need landry. Ron artest played horrendous. If he went 5-15, then I wouldn't have been so mad, but he just kept jacking them up, left and right. I remember one play where ron was almost falling down, but instead of passing, he leaned foward and just threw it towards the goal.....WTF?...seriously.... Brent barry was off, lowry was getting abused, wafer...wafer was so terrible... you know chuck hayes wasn't gonna score. Brooks played okay......Deron got his points on brooks, but he didnt go crazy. lol, I see the tmac bandwagon is back...if some of you guys dont jump off tmac's d**k now, you might hurt his back again with all the weight. Please, hold on to the railing and exit to the left of his nuts..
do you not remember how deron used to anally rape rafer on a consistant basis? Deron seemed like he use to set career highs every time we play against Utah...
For the life of me I cant understand why the Rockets cant beat the Jazz on the road. They have one good player in Deron Williams. It really looks like they have a huge mental block against this team especially on the road. They may want to see a shrink, haha just joking. If Adelman is this great offensive genius he should be able to have a counter offensive plan if the initial doesnt work. Artest needs to get a brain cell, apparently he thinks he was a great shooting game last night. Yao Ming was playing like he was 6 foot instead of 7 foot 6. This is truely embarassing.
