Clearly the 94/95 Rockets are girly because they avoided the Sonics.

Fact is, many of us here would rather go to the 2nd round and beyond and get THAT monkey off our back than have another potential losing series against a team that matches well against us.

Like i said earlier, brewer is a 20ppg scorer when he plays close to 40 mins or more, he's that good. Against houston he's played 53, 37, and 36 the first 3 meetings, which is why he scored about 20 in all of them. Tonight, the only time he played less than that, he scored 17.

But Yao and Ron wasn't really helping the Bench out. You see how when Utah's starters were in they get a bit of a cushion and their bench doesn't have to play with the pressure of taking the lead down or getting the lead.

Our bench can't be the guys to win games for us, it has to be Yao and Ron. If these guys can't and we have to depend on our bench then I don't know what we are playing for. Just to make it to the 2nd round?

getting dust out 3 year in a row by the same team with or w/o tmac changes made in the offseason and make fun of by the media calling this team soft compared to utah sounds more girly to me

A handful of losses against bottom-dwelling teams, if I'm not mistaken.

Boy, those losses sure look huge now, don't they?

I guess its too much to say this team is better than the rockets? The rox don't have 1 matchup they can exploit in utah can't answer. They can single yao and not really worry about him dropping 30. Defensively, when they pull yao from the basket, we have no one to protect the basket. Also , the lack of athleticism and the ability to finish at the rim really sticks out. No size, no versitility, in the recipe for disaster vs utah.

    My grades:

    Yao Ming: C+
Blocked 4 shots, but wore down as the game went on. Didn't really establish himself in the post, but alot of that was because his teammates were shothappy.

    Luis Scola: B
Got another double double (10pts/12rbds) but Okur got timely momentum baskets over him.

    Shane Battier: B+
Rare night where Shane's shot was on. Made hustle plays as usual, but he can only do so much.

    Ron Artest: D
5-22 shooting won't get us far. When you're hot you're hot, when you're not you lose by 13. It's a ying yang thing with the Rockets offense and Ron's shot selection, when the Rockets offense is running smoothly, then Ron's shot selection is better as he doesn't get the feeling he has to carry the team if Yao isn't on and the rest of the players aren't hitting their shots.

    Aaron Brooks: D
From watching the game you couldn't tell that he shot a decent 8-17. He missed open jumpers time and time again that could have change the outcome the of game and took alot of ill advised shots. Deron only had 19 points (12 assists) but you get the feeling he could had more as AB didn't really affect his shot.

    Kyle Lowry: D
He stunk tonight. Missed driving layups he usually makes, drove at times recklessly when he should have pulled back for a better shot, missed all of his shots and half of his FTs. Just a bad night.

    Von Wafer: D-
Don't let the 5 points he managed to get tonight fool you. He stunk tonight also. He lost his man tonight again, and his decision making when he had the ball was atrocious. Driving even more mindlessly and recklessly, he was simply was pressing too much. The bad Wafer who bounced around the league showed up tonight. Let's hope the good Wafer shows up the next game.

    Chuck Hayes: B
Hustled and played his usual blue collar game, even got that putback layup where the Rockets got 4 offensive rebounds.

    Brent Barry: D
His shot wasn't on, so he was rendered useless tonight.

Brian Cook and James White: Garbage minutes.

    Rick Adelman: C
Rick is a patient coach and he knows the team will play like this every now and then. He trusts that the young guys like Lowry, AB, and Wafer will learn from their mistakes. He yanked Wafer appropriately when he started getting out of control and let AB play through his mistakes because he felt AB needed the experience more. That and Lowry stunk tonight also.

Right, but if the scenario with Shane and Yao just keeps happening, Yao is just going to tire himself out trying to get position, with no reward.

Hate the Jazz. Hate hate hate the Jazz.

Jazz were more composed, more methodical. Rockets seemed more desperate, more scattered.

Agonizing loss. Still, season series split 2-2, with neither team winning in the other team's gym... just reinforcing that the Jazz are still the irritatingly close matchup that really takes so much more effort to beat than most other teams the Rockets might face in the first round. Nightmare.

Would have loved to have seen at least one "shut yo' mouf" dunk by a Rockets player tonight. If there was one, I missed it; the game, I blush to admit, did not command my full attention, chiefly due to eyerolls and swearing.

Deke needs minutes. Even the Jazz fear and respect the 'bows. Not a lot of minutes... just enough to add to the hit parade.

As bad as McGrady had been thoughout the year,we could have used a healthy one tonight.(I know that's not possible, just a hypothetical statement). He put some pressure on them in last years' playoff.

    bench production in utah

    this was a problem tonight:
    11 bench points to 34.
    6 blocks to 1.
15 rebounds to 10. (not as bad)
    6 assists to 3
    3 steals to 1
    and 6 turnovers each.

not saying it is a problem for rockets but it was tonight.
