Of course I watched the game.

What I saw was a guy that took good shots. Although they didn't all go in, he still took much better shots than most of the team (excluding Scola and Battier). He also had a lot of drives and kicks that didn't count as assists because his teammate either passed up the shot or didn't make the shot. He had a good game.

Like I said, he lacked on the defensive side, but what else do you expect? He's not a great defensive player.

But hell, Deron Williams was bad on defense too...

Yep guys like Tmac and Kobe get calls no matter where and he can actually frustrate who is defending him(when healthy)

Artest wasn't frustrating anyone but himself...same for Yao. So now our two go to guys are outta the game offensively. We now HAVE to depend on our bench and our role players.

I'm not saying we need Tmac specifically...we just need a guy like him...Joe Johnson...DWade...anyone that is going to frustrate their defenders and their defense.

I didn't say he did a bad job I just said the matchup is a nightmare for him. If we face them in the playoffs it will definitely be a problem if Yao doesn't dominate on the offensive end.

I'm not blaming Yao for this loss though, there were plenty of reasons.

Ron Artest has the WORST shot selection in the NBA of any good player. The man has no bball IQ on the offensive end of the court.

If your shot is off, attack the basket! Don't take off balanced jumpers or contested 3's. If they take away your drive, then give it to Yao, and he'll get you a wide open 3 right away or 2 points on his own. Its really frustrating watching him at times.

I know Brooks doesn't always get the ball to Yao either, but atleast he'll try to attack the basket, and he's the smallest guy on the court every night. But if you don't give Yao the ball, don't take a quick 3, and Brooks did do that a couple of times, which is also very frustrating.

Why on Earth would you not give it to the guy who can score the easiest and give you easier shots as well?? Just baffles me sometimes...

Lowery played aggressive, but he just couldn't finish tonight. I can live with that. He'll make those layups on most nights. Wafer needs to calm down at times. I like the aggressiveness, but damn, don't go 1-on-3 on a fast break, you aren't Lebron! you are a 6'4 shooting guard, who can't handle the ball very well in traffic. slow it down, and get it to a point guard.

Battier's shooting touch is coming back a lil bit and he played good defense today and rebounded well. Scola hit his shots today, but had some trouble with the physicality of Boozer and Milsap early on, and Okur was just hitting some crazy shots tonight, so can't blame Scola for that either. We really missed Landry tonight. Hayes did what he had to do, and he didn't disappoint.

Yao, played okay today, but he has to be careful on those passes out of the double teams. He also missed some easy shots, but he made up for that with his rebounding and shot blocking. He's learning how to affect the game even when his shot isn't falling.

But overall, I think we tried play too fast and ignored Yao, and relied on the 3 pointer way too much, plus we missed a bunch of lay ups. Defense kept us in it til the 4th, but When Ron Artest goes 5/22 and doesn't do much else except get burned by Ronnie freakin Brewer (a decent role player;not a star), then its gonna be hard to win any games.

Hate to say it, but the Jazz played a great game. The Jazz were very agressive and were better in both transition offense and defense. The Rockets seemed to be one step slower that they were the entire time.

Lowry missed shots he normally makes because the jazz defenders were so quick at getting back. I thought he needed to show a little more patience when things weren't going his way.

And they just absolutely murdered us in the paint. Their perimeter guys did a great job passing to players in the paint for easy basktets. The Rockets should study this game over the next few days and figure out just what the hell happened.

The Jazz are a well-coached team that's finally gotten healthy. If we meet them in the first round again, we're in for another dogfight.

our answer has been T-mac. He always unloads on the j*zz.

Remember how crappy our team shot in the playoffs last year? Tmac carried the team on his 40+point shoulders.

Landry would have been a key player to have against these guys.

I dont think we can say much about Yao's D on Boozer tonight because Boozer was settling for some Js at times. Even Collins kept saying that shot would be there for Boozer all game and he needed to take it to Yao. Yao's D is imporved overall though, but tonight Boozer wasnt aggressive enough to know if Yao can hold him down in a playoff series.

Agreed!! Besides, 3 days ago, most of us would have been happy with a split of road games in SA & Utah.

We lost this game because of our bench. When we needed them to give the starters a pick me up...they failed.

Bottom line was that Utah's reserves flourished and played well....ours played out of control and made poor decisions.

I'm talking von wafer, brooks, and lowry (i know brooks is a starter now). But the 3-17 thing won't get it done. Not when Artest and Yao struggling offensively.

The D was there until we ran out of steam - we held them at 82 points forever, but couldn't capitalize - instead many times running the ball down in break situations despite being out numbered (2 on 3 and 2 on 4). That's not winning basketball.

Chaulk this lose on the bench and inexperience...throw in some awful shots by artest and that will not only lose to Utah on the road, but a lot of other teams.

yeah your right I don't watch enough Jazz basketball. But I did heard more about dwill boozer AK47 millsap okur and even jerry sloan more than I hear about ronnie brewer this year! If you let a dude that averages 10 pts the last 3 games to come here and own you then this team is in trouble and he is not even the 1 2 3 4 option on this utah team

If we face them in the playoffs I believe those are the shots Boozer will mostly take, so it will just depend on if he's hot or not. I don't think he will go at Yao aggressively unless Yao is in foul trouble.

and landry would have definitely made a difference, like i mentioned earlier, against Utah you can't be soft, and Carl is one of the few guys who actually takes it to the rim strong every time and can adjust his shot when there's contact. Ron takes it strong, but unfortunately only gets off an inch off the floor, which is not good when you have jumping machines in AK and Brewer.

Calm down and take a long breath, my friend.
sometimes a loss is not completely a bad thing, at least we could know where we are, where we should strengthen. Even we could say its a shortcut to make us a great team through always fighting good teams like j*zz. If rockets lose, dont try to find excuses please, to do what like Shaq Oneal's commercial said:"To practice it you really weak". If rox deliberately avoid j*zz, then they are a bad team.

I'm not a T-mac fan,but I have to admit that T-mac's Bball IQ is really higher than Ron.....
Ron played like a chicken without head and so did Wafer
