but seth, why trade landry unless you can get a back-up that is equally talanted. Scola will be 30 in 13 months.....Landry is only 25, so I would be so quick to trade landy when the rockets can have a nice duo for more 3-4 years
Because i think we are in win now mode, and we have to get the best `players we can, if that involves giving away one of our PF, so be it, i don“t want this to be like the bulls with a lot of good players but all in the same positions.
Brewer actually propelling himself further along the court with this hands on the floor was the most outrageous flop. Almost as bad as Andre Kirifloppo in last years playoff series when Scola barely touched him and he leaped into the stands and wept like a school girl to get the call that basically knocked us out of the playoffs. There are few things in like I despise, and only on thing I truly hate, and that is the ****ing Utah Jazz.
I don't know but watching the Jazz beat us gets me more frustrated than losing to any other team in the nba BY FAR. I hate that stadium
So I was at the game and noticed two things that probably weren't on TV and I haven't read this thread to see if anyone has mentioned them. First, the half-time entertainment was this group of four guys who jumped off trampolines to dunk the ball over and over again. Guess which goal they were dunking on? The Rockets' goal for the 2nd half. Second, the Jazz mascot which is some kind of furry thing (kinda reminds me of that weird Spurs mascot) offered one of the refs some money in front of the entire stadium if he danced and the ref danced and took it. Mascots bribing refs?? Just sayin...
We should of started Lowry to get a quicker start and to guard williams better. Not a bad loss; hopefulyy we will learn from it!
on the you tube video "What's up with Utah Fans" I am tearing up these fans up, ah they are so pathetic. and dunking on the rim does affect the rim. but I'm not sure how much. hmmm...someone should look in to it.
Does anyone have a YouTube clip of the apparent charge on Yao? I apologize if it has already been posted, but I could not find it.
unless they were going at the rims with a lot of force and then hanging on the rims i dont see what could happen really. if this really did effect the rims, teams would have complained about it long before since mascots, cheerleaders (even our RPDS!) do that all the time during halftimes/extended timeouts. the only time i have seen any thing is when some one dunks on a rim they could hurt their hand and it could effect their shooting for a bit. maybe i am just forgetful but i didnt really see a lot of "in and out" shots by the rockets there were a lot of just straight up bad misses there.
I didn't get to watch the game, and haven't read this thread, but a couple of observations: Given that - 1)we were playing our 4th game in 5 nights, 2)we were on the back end of a back-to-back, 3) game played at altitude, 4)Jazz rested since Sunday, 5) ostensibly flopping and mugging Yao were rewarded, 6) we are still short one "impact player", I'm surprised that the game was so close. In fact I'm somewhat encouraged. Rox really hung tough! Just my 2 cents. DR
I forgot point #3, they have this dude with a loud cowbell that he uses during our free throws. Man, that was annoying. Is that legal? Cause I haven't seen that elsewhere.
I suggest flopping should get a technical foul. Like in soccer, flopping gets a yellow card. Second one? Sent off.
It has been suggested for years. It will never change - it will only continue to get worse. Most times today's NBA games aren't even determined by basketball anymore.
Exactly how I feel, but after getting so close, you would have liked for the game to be decided by the players on the floor. The Rockets could have won with better FT shooting and rebounding but that foul on Yao late was a bad call that impacted the game tremendously. DD
Sloan has perfected flopping and grabbing into an art form. He's got the officials duped, and it helps him win games...so it's not going to change. You've got to hammer through it. Our poor rebounding may have had something to do with fatigue..it happens. And right now, given the givens, Jazz are the better team. They know how to finish games. DR
