Agree, looks like this is there last play they prepared in the last moment, cuz we are playing that Yao-foward pick quite often, and very predictable.... I would like to know what the others are thinking about that call, did brewer set his feel down before Yao's coming?
Not a surprising outcome, but it could have been a different story if the Rockets made a few more free throws or grabbed a few more rebounds. Good effort because at least they didn't roll over after being down 13 in the 3rd.
its ridiculous and the most frustrating thing is the league continues to say hes officially unfairly and they continue to do nothing about it.
Paraphrasing: He is bothered by the number of offensive fouls called on him in the last few games. Yao says he gets constantly pushed and leaned on but never gets a call, while on the other end if a guy just decides to sit down he get an offensive foul call. He said he realizes he is 300 pounds but he still feels the fouls. he ended by saying at least he won't have to worry about flopping ing the next game...Shaq is not thay type of player.
i love the effort...just love it. not rolling over in the 3rd...however ill have to admit its the first game i officially miss tracy
Stop being fxxxin permissive! You cold-blooded snake Every heart needs healing... after lost to big game vs. Jiiiiiizzhole. Some of the arguments are simply FACT that you can not just ignore......
U MISS TRACY?!! GET OUT OF HERE YOU ROX HATER. haha just kidding. im right there with you man. itd be nice to have another option other than the yao ming post up late in games. It would really be nice.
What most pisses me off about this is that those phony calls he gets is like an artificial balancing out of the natural talent he has over other players. He wasnt the first pick because he is average. He went first because he is better than other players at his position and can score consistently over lesser players. Problem is... that assumes that he is being guarded legally and like everyone else. When his defenders are allowed to hack him with impunity the refs are basically neutralizing his natural advantage. Do the refs go out of their way to neutralize DWade's or Kobe's greater athleticism? If anything they are rewarded for being able to jump over other people. But they see Yao and they figure he should be able to tolerate more hacking and pushing because he is so big. Thing is... that is not a relevant consideration. If he was 11 foot tall and could dunk in every play still he should have to be guarded legally. Its not the Rockets fault the other team doesnt have anyone that can guard him.
It always sucks losing to the Jazz, but on the bright side the Spurs lost, Suns lost, Portland is losing (but I wouldn't hold my breath just yet), and tomorrow 4 West playoff teams are playing each other.
With all the dragging and dirty defense from Okur and under constant thread from Deron to chop his arm, I found it is hard for him to do anything rapidly in this stationary throw-to-Yao offense.... We seldom swing the ball and make enough ball movement tonite. Rick should stress on it every timeout, if we had any
1. good to see Lowry got more mins, but is still too late. 2. When Yao out, our PFs is not enough to stop Jazz. Give Deke some mins or Hayers. 3. Why Free shoots so bad? 4. Still long way in season, no time to regret.
Everyone is complaining about the refs but I feel pity for them to have to officiate in ESC. I mean they could literally call a foul every time the jazz touches the ball - the moving screens, the little shove on the back, the hand checking, ... They called it tighter in the 4th but man did they get booed! Had they called the first 3 quarters the way they called the 4th, both boozer and okur would have been fouled out before 4th and an easy win for rox. I just hate watching the jazz play - they foul so much that the entire game is full of broken plays. I'm glad they have never won it all for as long as I have followed NBA.
Adelman needs to make better substitution decisions. Also, when you are in bonus, attack the rim! Why settle for jumpshots?
this is the first game which made me believe the NBA hightlight game result is controlled, if not predefined. sure Rox deserve the loss. poor rebs, poor FT ratio, Yao foul trouble, and all the old Jazz homecount things.if not for the horrible jazz TO numbers, Rox could lose more points. it's the end of 3rd quarter-beginning of 4th quarter convinced me. before that everything went the usual way, Jazz flops, Yao gets called. all of a sudden, refs let Rox go with real fouls, and calls phantom fouls on Jazz! and before this rox down by double digits, frustrated, at the verge of meltdown. this change of trend eventually made Rox tie the scores. as soon as Rox got a real chance, Yao was flopped out. that flop by brewer is so fake, so blatant, any ref who doesn't WANT Jazz to win won't call it. I gathered the ref's plan should be: 1. Jazz win by single digit. (curiously, the gambling rate line is Jazz +8.5 pts) 2. keep the game close, no blow out. 3. anything happened to threaten 1 and 2, call against it.
Its maddening...all you have to do is look at yaos body and you can see the amount of punishment he absorbs night in night out. His arms have so many scrapes, bruises and scars. All I ask is this: if youre going to allow people to play so physically against one player, it should not be a foul when another player takes on any less contact. Just call it fair. all that BS when guards go in the lane and jump in to people and fall down. How is that a foul when you allow guys to literally put both hands on another player and push him and slap him?
