When Ariza shoots or puts the ball on the floor i make the same face i make when Chuck Hayes Shoots or puts the ball on the floor....

DD this is all your fault!!!! No one is saying TMac is as good as Kobe. But he is better than Ariza. Hell we could have had him just go stand on the court. At least they would guard him and open everything up. He wouldn't even need to touch the ball to have a higher +/- than Trevor last night.

Relax, the season won't be lost. Next week our schedule gets much easier and we will have an excellent record the rest of this month. No one expected us to make a run at a championship this year anyway. We are putting all the pieces in place this year to be a real contender when Yao returns. Just sit back and enjoy the way these guys are playing this year.

Can someone tell me why we saw AB guarding CP3 for the 4th qtr? When Lowry was on him, he was shut down. Switch back to AB and he goes off, leads a comeback, and wins the game.

AB needs to be in the game in the 4th, no doubt, but in this situation we needed Lowry out there too. Paul ate Brooks alive!

I know Lowry had five fouls, I can't remember when he got the fifth foul.

I agree that Lowry should have been in at the end and said as much earlier in the thread.

However, Paul was 6-for-17 midway the 4th quarter with Brooks guarding him the majority of the game. I actually thought Brooks had one of his better defensive efforts of the season. We all know he's not a good defender but he did a reasonable job against a tremendous player until that final stretch.

And don't forget that Paul schooled Lowry, Battier and Ariza, too.

Lowry fouled him for an And1 shortly before he got subbed out.

Paul scored with ease in the paint when Battier was covering him earlier in the game.

He went right around Ariza and banked one off the glass late in the game. Even with Ariza's length and agility, he had no chance.

Paul schools just about anybody in the league in 1-on-1 situations. I saw a statistic somewhere that showed Paul as being right there with Yao Ming and Pau Gasol as the three most efficient scorers in the paint area over the last few seasons. I don't remember the exact stat but it was amazing to see a 6-footer on that list with Yao and Pau.

Having said all that, I still would've kept Lowry in the game down the stretch. He only had 4 fouls when Adelman took him out with about 4 minutes left in the game. I believe we had a good chance to win if Lowry stayed on the court, not just because of his defense on Paul but all the other little things he does well that contribute to wins. He and Landry are our best 4th quarter players.

Interesting and very impressive stat regarding Chris Paul.

My guess as to why Adelman went with Brooks over Lowry late in that game was that he wished to surround Landry with good shooters (Brooks and, ahem, Ariza). He wanted outside threats to go with Landry inside.

i AGREE with u ,lowry and landry are the most reliable players in 4th quarter, during crucial time the ball must be handled by lowry instead of brooks.

Well reasoned, Brooks. Glad to hear a voice of reason; I was one of those having a cow after the game...<sheepishly> I do tend to get a bit overexcited during and just after a game...all that adrenaline I guess.

We were just so close, darn it!
