Dude, Paul schooled Brooks and Battier and Ariza and even Lowry. He schools everybody that tries to cover him one-on-one. Did you watch the game? Brooks is not a good defender. That's a known fact. He actually did a pretty good job tonight compared to his norm. Going into the final stretch, Paul was something like 6-for-17. I read something where Paul's shooting percentage in the paint over the last few years is up there with only Yao Ming and Pau Gasol and he's a 6-footer. Did you see the play where Paul shot a floater over Battier? Or when he banked one off the glass when Ariza was covering him? Or when Lowry fouled him and he got an And1?
When Brooks can't get the ball, Ariza has to handle it. And he's not ready for that role yet. That's because of the lack of talent on this team. Give JT that role you'd see more failure.
Blacksmith is always struggling on the court in this game. Three turnovers in a row really could kill any momentum and frustrate any players. It's hard to believe he still could get RA's love. Both Scola and Lowery should be on the court in the end because we are so struggled in scoring.
I saw all of those plays. I also saw the numerous positive plays he made per his norm. Every player on our team did some bad things down the stretch. Lowry has still proven to be our most consistent ball-handler and one of our best 4th quarter options. I can live with his mistakes given the tremendous impact he has at both ends of the court. I don't think those mistakes mean he would've repeated them. One of the great things about Lowry is that he doesn't repeate mistakes and doesn't let bad plays affect his play at either end of the court. If it were up to me, I would've kept Lowry in even after those mistakes. We were leading when he got subbed out with about 4 or 5 min left.
i think you're taking things too personally, if english isn't your first language you have to realize sometimes words are taken differently in differentl languages and a message board here may work a bit different or the discussion is different, maybe more emotional...point is, it's just the internet.
now u see why adelman has not won a championship hes just not a bright dude what the heck is up with ariza having to close out EVERY SINGLE GAME!!!!!! its not hard if something is working then milk it if something ISNT WORKING THAN STOP GOING TO IT!!!!!!!ariza is not a star player he doesnt have to close out games !!!!!!!!it reminds me of the whole von wafer and ron artest thing there were games were artest had no buisness being in there over von but with like 5 minutes to go u see artest hop right off that bench to go get von on the dead ball even when von is blazzin hot its just not good coaching.and by the way TREVOR ARIZA IS NOT A SHOOTING GUARD !!!!!!!!!! ok rick cant u gett that through your thick scull!!!!!!!
every now and then we have a numbnut that gets butthurt over someone else's post, now to truly prove the point he puts his whinefest in his sig nice
Don't get me wrong, Lowry played a very good game up to that point. The thing is there was obviously a momentum shift at that moment, I guess RA just tried to put Ariza in see if he could stop that. After all, our starters played their starters well at the beginning of 1st quarter and 3rd quarter. This time CP3 took over the game and it didn't work. When CP3 was playing like that and Landry is ineffective, I doubt that substitution is the key for the loss.
I know Ariza is public enemy #1 right now but I don't see what he did that cost us the game minus the air ball where he dropped the ball. He played pretty good D, shot 50 percent and rebounded well how about Hayes fouling Paul on a sure layup or Brooks quick 3 when a 2 would have been fine. He did have 7 turnovers which is a negative and something the guy needs to work on but it appears to have sunk in that he needs to drive to the hoop so the next step in his evolution is learning to take care of the ball. Ariza 7-14 for 14 points, 7 boards, 3 assists and 1 steal
Calm down guys, its one game. Everyone has there bad nights. Need to be more supportive of what we are doing well and not what we are doing bad.
Ariza should never handle the ball period. He should be on the receiving end of a pass and not trying to create for others. He doesn't have the handles and is a turnover machine when he puts the ball on the floor. I really question the play calling down the stretch. Is coach doing it on purpose for the team to learn? Not really sure there but for everyone complaining about the loss - can't win em all. Besides, the Rockets as is are a team in transition. There are a lot of other teams out there that would kill to be 20-14 in a transition year.
+1, the gameplan today didn't worked as usual, i think luis had to close the game, with landry or hayes. And Arizas endgame was really bad, he shouldn't have played the last minutes.
I hate these types of games, because at the end of the season it could these games could mean home-court advantage or not. If we are not going to play T-Mac and waste his money, then trade him as soon as possible. (My wish is to get Andre Iguadola.) WE NEED A DEAL SOON TO AQUIRE A GO-TO GUY
More on Brooks shooting that 3....No one seemed to mention that it was 19 seconds left when he shot that 3....didn't have full control of the ball....had two players on him...when, just like the next play when Ariza got the quick 2 (Too late)...when that could, or better yet should have been the first play... then try to steal...if not then get a quick foul...make them make their free throws...If they make em then you still have about 16 seconds to either go for another quick 2 or get your 3....unless it was a clean look, brooks should have never shot that ball...That was either horrible coaching by RA or poor decision on Brooks' part. Even after that stupid shot by Ariza, Rocks still had a chance. On to the next one
