I knew they'd lose, but I thought with it being so close for most of the game that we'd have a chance...f'n bullsh#t...grrr...
I'd say this view is more or less the problem with the Rockets. They keep trying to fool themselves into thinking that the players they have are on par, or close enough, to superstars. They aren't. No matter how good a coach you have, you can't make up for a lack of superstar players who can maintain poise and control a game down the stretch. We have nobody who can do that. The gap between Brooks and Chris Paul was on full display last night, and it's a big one, not just in points and assists, but how Paul ran the team, the type of poise he had, etc., compared to Brooks who got ejected at the end of the game after point-guarding another fourth quarter meltdown.
I don't see AB deferring to anyone when he dribbles the shot clock out and jacks up a long range 3. Though to be fair, Lowry did the same damn thing last night. You're right though, Scola was leaving several people wide open.
Pretty sad. We really have a great team on paper but things just don't seem to work right now. I am dissapointed in AB cause his defense has been poor and he can't guy a 3 pointer just like the entire team. And looks like that DEPTH which was supposed to be our main weapon is killin us right now.
Except Lowry actually distributes the ball and played good defense. The problem with AB is if he can't make shots, he can't do jack on the floor.
I think what disturbs me most about anything I saw from last night (missed game...) was that the score was 89-88 Rockets with 3.23 left. This means that in 3 minutes we allowed them to score 19 pts. almost a QUARTERS worth of pts in 3 minutes?!?!!??!! GEEEEZ guys!
Yao missed a rebound it bounced right out to CP3 for a wide open 3, swish....and then it compouded from there where we missed and had to foul to get back in it. Make or miss league folks, make or miss. DD
Ignore all those points that cp3 was getting at the FT line late...becase we were intentionally fouling it is easier to blame one guy, even if that guy was picked off at the top of the key by a 6'9" 260 PF....it is all his fault. DD
Man, your crush on Brooks is just plain unhealthy. I had the pleasure to read all your posts today and I think you need this fixed. You wrote around 200 posts defending Brooks, coming up with a variety of about 5 theories why everyone else or noone else has to be blamed. I have to say you wasted a lot of time and NO you never managed to come up with a convincing argument. NOT ONCE. You have gone too far. Take a walk or something, because it's just plain silly. The sheer volume of your unnecessary / redundant posts is astonishing, mind-breaking. I'm out of words. Leave it. Brooks stinks on D. Will get better. Morey won't fire RA. People will recognise Brooks stinks on D. There is no reason to deny it. It is a crystal clear fact.
I agree. Play some of Hill w/ Yao. Also, PLEASE bench Battier. It is becoming embarassing. Play Buddinger/Lee/Jefferies mostly at SF. Also, yell/beg/order, etc. Martin, Brooks, and Scola to play defense. The defense by the 3 of them has become atrotious (especially Scola).
Well that loss stung. The Rockets brass did IMHO make too much of an overhaul. I posted on another thread that we now have 10 players that have been on the team one year or less. How is a team supposed to gel like that? It seems that we are in a holding pattern waiting for another trade/deal. I don't think that has proven to be the answer on many levels. I wish we had not let go of Landry and Ariza. Heck - I wish we still had Artest.
These last few games really makes you wonder if AB's being affected mentally by the lack of an extension.
If this continues for any length of time, I recommend that this thread be renamed. Instead of Post-Game Analysis how about Postmortem Analysis?
