The Rockets need to go back to making Yao the #1 offense option. I don't think Brooks and Martin want that though. The Rockets have become a guard centered offense revolving around the duo guards Brooks and Martin, neither of which can defend. Unless they go back to Yao centered offense with a part time Adelman offense when Yao's not in, they are going to continue to lose. All the people screaming for JVG's firing, and hiring of Adelman: This is the verdict. 42-40 last year. 0-4 this year. JVG is fading fast from this team. Yao, hope you go to Chicago or Orlando next year. 10M/year, 5 years.
Oh lord even the Clip errr Clippers > Rockets now with 1 win Where are Clip/Rox fans you should celebrate this ....... very rare for such a feat to happen .
They really need to have Hill playing with Yao.. and have Scola play when Yao is sitting. Think of it this way: Yao and Scola's strengths are in offense but so much defense, especially Scola. With AB Martin and Yao out there that's enough offense, so with Hill's high activity around the basket he would complement Yao on the inside with additional rebounding and hustle.
I honestly feel like ****. 4 Games where I've been pumped up about this team, every game theres that 3 quarters of Promise. Then 1 Quarter of absolute Failure.
as bad as it was, it was a good thing for the 'stros. they couldn't live under any delusions that they were serious contenders. they turned the corner and started planning for the future. if the rockets do that (in the NBA way - very different from MLB in how it's done) then suffering through a bad season will be worth it.
Couldn't get a stop when we needed it + couldn't stop chucking when we needed a basket = L. Scola - went from beast to zombie. He was horrible on D last night. Spent too much time leaving his man open to hover around the basket for a rb. Scola - you won't have a rb when you leave your man open like that. Brooks - doing the best SF3 imperssonation since...well SF3...in the later years. That shot on the last minute was classic SF. Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce (3 sec left on the shot clock and a double team appears knowing he has to shoot so he backs up 5' behind the line) shoot, clank. I swear, if the superbowl was in Houston this year, Brooks would be AWOL. Martin - man his D was awful. Really starting to think we didn't get the best of the Martin/Landry deal. Battier - below average D - again. But please Batman, no more turnovers...I mean shots. Budinger - Came in like Superman to save the day. Too bad he still had his Clark Kent outfit on. Bad passes and part of the chuckathon is not what this team needs off the bench. Refs - no home cooking calls. Until we start winning some games I see a cycle of bad calls against us. Hill - Showed that he deserves at least some time on the floor. Needs work but overall I liked his effort. Just don't block shots so hard they end up in the open man's hand. That is all... {serenity now...serenity now}
AB is right, but they got a lot of freethrows late when we were fouling on purpose. AB and CP3 had about the same stats until the end...when CP3 got the FT bonanza.... Not saying AB is as good as CP3, but the difference between them last night was not that great, and AB got screwed on some foul calls as did Scola.... DD
I hate that Brooks reminded me of SF3. I never thought of him as an SF3 clone until yesterday. Hopefully it's a matter of him just getting comfortable with all the lineup changes. And about defense, well...nevermind.
you're missing assists and focusing on points. you're missing the way CP3 gets others involved. these are point guards we're talking about. CP3 doubled up AB in assists.
I know Max, but it is a totally different system, CP3 dominates the ball and makes all the decisions. AB defers to numerous teamates.....early in the shot clock and at the high post. Of course CP3 will have more assists....he gets to make all the passes. The main point I am trying to convey here is that AB has struggled but the problem is more scheme oriented in regards to CP3 than it is to individual effort of play. I am not saying AB is as good as CP3, but he is good enough, if the schemes are better and his teamates stop leaving guys wide open on the perimeter. DD
