I honestly dont think Patterson could make us a wrost team on defense if he gets to play. Patrick shoud get a few minutes now.
Am I the only one seeing a silver lining in the game tonight? I thought there is better flow in their offense and there is a palpable effort among the Rockets' players to play defense. They are still blowing some assignments and are still somewhat disorganized defensively. I can sense a better feel for each other and I believe it just a matter of a game or two more and this team will have some run. The coaching staff has still to address the serious defensive weakness in the backcourt and the lack of leadership on the court by their starting quarterback. Lowry doesn't seem to be the answer either. Calm down folks and believe me I can see some light at the end of this short tunnel and it is not an oncoming train. Give them a game or two and they should start finding their chemistry.
The good news the schedule is not bad at all @ San Antonio vs Minnesota @ Washington @ Indiana @ New York vs Chicago @ Oklahoma City @ Toronto vs Phoenix? vs Golden @ Charlotte vs Oklahoma City @ Dallas vs LA Lakers @ Memphis @ Chicago America vs Detroit @ Milwaukee vs Cleveland vs Sacramento @ Oklahoma City vs Memphis @ Sacramento @ Golden State @ LA Clippers vs Washington If we finally and get a few consecutive wins we will get the confidence back and it will be easy to fixed our problems (Defense) and adjust a few thing. We got the personal just need to get the monkey out of our backs. *Note we play OKC 3 times but we just owned them no matter how good the National TV rated them we just got the way with them especially when we play Yao. Is not like we going to sweep them but the are not elite for me as the other teams I bold.
Here's how we fix it. Trade Brooks, Martin, couple of draft picks and expirings to the Nuggets for Melo and Billups. We get Melo for a one year rental before he leaves us and we get Billups with 3 good years left leading the team and next year we have Melo money free to spend. Whatya think?
Other than GS the team we face are 100 times better than most of those teams and we pretty much have the chance to win any of those we just didn't close it right. No, Like we playing right now is better that 80% of the team we are about to face.
You sounds just like coach Adelman, ---if this was Jan or Feb, people is not going to give a d@mn (on the three game losing streak before this game)---. Wake up people! This can easily become 5, 6, who knows how many in a row. When you lose too many it becomes a habit. When you lose several in a row, you start to develop loser's mentality. Something is going to happen in the locker room. Then all of a sudden everything falls apart. I remember several years ago Dallas dropped four in a row as the season started, and they were able to come out with a good season, but that was the only recent memory. Remind me any team that recovers after 6 or 7 in a row from the very beginning? It is time to panic! At least the coaching staff please don't act like we are on a long winning streak!!!!
Chase should of taken it to the basket already than passin it to Yao..that was a pass most bigs would of had a problem handling. not to mention a 7'6 slower Yao..
We are not at this point yet. In 2008-09 We lost 6 straight in the first month we were able to win 53 and get to the second round, well we know what happen with Yao. But is just a bad streak vs some good teams, best time to have is at the beginning were things can be fixed. This is maybe one of the best 0-4 teams of all time. Just happen we are a lot better that this. Just get that fist one and what a better way to get it that vs SA. 4 games out of 1st place. 2 games out the playoff 78 games to go. No panic, just pissed at the way we are winning and give away the games with a scrub having the game of his life. But the team got talent, just need to put together. This losses will make you stronger or we never got the heart at all. Rockets just win one and get the flavor of a win and everything will be ok.
Pretty much sums it up....we're not awake, there's no sense of urgency, no desperation....when another team can develop that mindset when they're unbeaten and houston can't and are winless, then something is wrong in the locker room. HOUSTON (AP)—New Orleans coach Monty Williams wanted to make sure his team didn’t underestimate the struggling Houston Rockets. So the first-year coach repeatedly asked his players how they would feel if they didn’t have a win this season. The team used that mindset to remain unbeaten as Chris Paul(notes) scored 25 points, Marco Belinelli(notes) added 18 and the Hornets beat the winless Rockets 107-99 on Wednesday night. “We talked about being desperate—as desperate as they are—before the game,” Williams said. “Having a sense of urgency, going out there and executing your offense as if you were 0-3. I think our guys had that mentality tonight.”
Looking at the Stats as a team of Rockets vs Hornet tonight Just statistics broad, but may tell us something. Total Rebounds Rockets 45 vs Hornets 45 (Offensive Rebounds 12 vs 11) Total Assists Rockets 22 vs Hornets 20 Total Steals Rockets 4 vs Hornets 9 Total Blocked shots Rockets 6 vs Hornets 11 Total Turnover Rockets 12 vs Hornets 8 Field Goal Attempt Rockets 39-93 vs Hornets 36-79 3 Pointer Attempt Rockets 8-24 vs Hornets 5-13 So by just looking at the statistics, it seems like it is at the "field goal percentage" criteria that Rockets really did bad while having similar number of rebounds and assists as a team. As a team, the rockets had 14 more shots than the Hornets in this game. The Rockets lost 99-107. I've found that in our previous losses, the opposing team (Lakers, Warriors and Nuggets) all had higher number of shots. Do these extra shots tonight indicate the Rockets actually had more opportunities offensively than the Hornets tonight? Where did these shots go?
