Unfortunately, we've had too many of these "one" games. That's probably why we'll miss the playoffs this year. Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Charlotte, ... the list goes on. We might be able to afford one or two, but now it is very, very difficult to make the playoffs.
Well missing Ariza sure doesn't help the team. With a lot of people around here thinking the team is much better without him, hard to argue that right now.
Well we were missing 2 rotation players on the road. The loss wasn't unexpected, but I expected something closer than 33 points!
just like how people think we were better without yao? one game is hard to say much. if this happens more than 50% of the time, it's a good conclusion. but one game? so are we to say the lakers would go undefeated without kobe bryant?
that's why we're a middle of the pack type of team, which we are. and i'll use something that JVG once said on a telecast. the great teams (lakers/cavs) stay consistently great. we're the middle of the pack team so we stay consistently decent. some games we'll be great. some games we'll be pretty good. and some games we'll be awful. you can't expect this type of team to NOT have these kinds of games. that's unrealistic.
Thank God RA has finally adopted my tank-and-let's-hit-the-lottery strategy. I'm so glad he reads CF and/or listens to my prayers. Amen.
Well those people were/are crazy. Ariza is a guy who is tops in steal, and averages around 15ppg. That is going to be missed no matter what team he plays for.
This game makes me doubt Morey. If we're NOT tanking this year, we sure are doing a damn good job of pretending to.
Well, to be fair, missing Ariza was only a small part of the problem we had last night. Did you count how many rookies we had on the court after the first substitution? (Dorsey may as well be counted as a rookie). We need more depth, but unfortunately the only way that is coming for this team is with time.
The problem with tanking at this point is that if you make a good trade next week (and I hope we do) and bring in good help, are you really going to want to continue tanking? Will the incoming players allow that? They will want to make a push for the playoffs but may find themselves just short because of games like this (and the last few weeks). So you really don't want to tank at this point. Now if Tracy is still on our roster next weekend...continue tanking but it will be hard to catch the Nets.
Games like this show that the team is deep down in crisis. Maybe too much on their minds due to deadline approaching? We'll see if ASG break helps the team re-gather.
lol, I see I'm not the only one that missed the game. I think most of us were better off for it the following morning.
