I know what you mean about that hooking crap. I cant believe was stars get away with, and their opponents just get screwed.
we were actually making shots in the end, but unfortunately there were missed calls, a stupid flagrant, a bad foul on a 3-ptr, and Miami hit their FTs. A closer is about offense, but we didnt need someone who could score. We needed a better defensive plan.
slo-mo shows it sure, but in REAL time, Wade is jumping higher and raising the ball quickly while AB is under him, jumping less, and reaching for where the ball was. It was quick, he didnt just go to slap him on the face.
I think I saw the same game everyone else did. I'm surprised only a couple of other posters also noticed the lack of ball / player movement in the second half with Brooks running point. That was the biggest reason they didn't score as well as in the first half. In that regard, Lowry has been "running" the team better than Brooks. Also, I don't disagree the need for the hole Yao's absence leaves defensively, but trying to get a "brand name" type player will almost assuredly mean losing some of the players that play crucial role / support minutes which give the team the identity they are developing. It would be better if Morey can work some magic, using precious little "resources" to plug the hole left by Yao -- on the defensive end, especially. Don't know if the Rockets have gotten the medical player exception yet.
wrong. Martin, Lowry, and Scola attack the basket and dont always get calls. In fact, lately they've been getting less... but only because they fake a little bit AS their fouled, instead of just taking a legitimate look as the whistle comes. We have guys that penetrate tho. Thats why we're tops in the league in FTs and well as in 3s. Our guys do both.
Coach should have given Chuck more time on the court against Bosh.... and that's not my bias talking. Chuck was the 4th leading scorer... the leading rebounder and he was doing well on defense.... and he didn't play in the last 15 minutes of the game. the last surge at the end was good to see though...there's no give up in this team.
SCOLA DID NOT HAVE A BAD GAME!!!! OMG you people are spoiled! The man outplays BOSH and OMG 22pts on 50% shooting, and not allowing Bosh to outplay him simply WHITES OUT Bosh's play. Thats some all-star sht you dummies! What, did C-Lee have a great game because he played some good defense? NOPE! He missed tons of shots and didnt contribute in almost any other part of the game... but Scola can play 31 minutes, with 1 turnover, outscore and outrebound his all-star counterpart, and it be considered a "bad game" because he plays average defense and missed a couple of jumpers near the end. well, he MADE some too near the end. man, ignorant Scola-haters are starting to pi55 me off. He's no NBA legend, but the guy did NOT have a bad game.
@WindhorstESPN Official ***** Bavetta issued a statement on the flagrant foul called on Aaron Brooks after he hit Dwyane Wade in the 4th quarter... about 2 hours ago @WindhorstESPN "When Wade was fouled, he's lying motionless on the floor. Our initial intention was to see what the situation was with him because..." about 2 hours ago @WindhorstESPN "if he stays down on the floor for a period of time, then the team has to call a TO, He can't just stay there w/o something being done... @WindhorstESPN (after talk of Miami calling TO) "We get together as a crew & discuss the play. The crew decided unanimously it was going to be a flagrant-1 @WindhorstESPN "Video replay is not an option unless it's a flagrant- @WindhorstESPN Reason Bavetta addressed was it was a big turning point & there was a delay before the call with no review. Wade said Brooks wasn't dirty I call bs on this. Adelman in his post game interview said he heard Bavetta and another official talk it over and call it a 2 shot foul. The only reason why it was a flagrant 1 was because drama queen Wade was on the ground for like 5 minutes for a frickin cut lip. Next time Martin or one of other players gets hacked, especially against an upper echelon team like the Heat or Lakers, I wanna see them lie on the floor and see if the refs call it a flagrant. **** U Bavetta! That play cost us the game!
Interesting game: We took more shots We hit more threes We took more free throws We had more offensive rebounds We had more total rebounds We had more assists We had more steals We had less fouls We had less turnovers They had more blocks They shot a better % Defense wins game I guess.
And all I hear is, "You've got an A. Why do you care about getting a 100?" All I can say is what I saw. Tonight, I saw a team capable of scoring 135. I also saw a team that scored 8-12 points long after a game was out of hand. I saw a team that lost composure and a coach that let a winnable game get away. Face facts: this team will win with OFFENSE. All of you clammering about referring and defense need to put your wishes in one hand and your crap in the other and see which gets filled first. The officiating was fine, even a little slanted towards the Rockets. And this team CAN'T play great defense -- at least not with the talent on it. Brooks with half a foot? Kevin Martin? Are you kidding me? Or how about that Jordan Hill has no idea when or where to help defend. That he's constanty out of position. Or that Scola ISN'T a great man defender. Budinger looks like he DID spend the whole night partying. Rockets fans: face facts and realize that the ceiling for this team is Alex English's Nuggets. And to those of you waiting for that blockbuster superstar trade: WHO IS IT? Just tell me. Who is it that the Rockets could get that could actually put them over the top? Clutchfans, THINK before saying. It'll do you a lot of good. *most of this not directed at quoted user
I agree that it was the Wade foul that was the turning point for us. We had control of the game the whole way pretty much until then. The Heat were basically handed 5 or 6 points with those flagrant free throw shots and possession of the ball. Wade went to the ground in such a pre-meditated way. He was on his knees and then after he thought about it for a second went down and covered his head with his hands.
And Martin DOESN'T do that? Miami already had a nice lead when Wade was fouled. Also, he was shooting 75% at the time. Why has NOBODY brought up that? Understand me know: I hated watching this game almost as much as I hated those heat fans sitting behind me.
The Rockets need a shot blocking/ rebounding center. Someone with sharp elbows who'll put fear into the hearts of those that try to come into the lane uninvited. I miss mutumbo. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6-BaVkXp6gk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6-BaVkXp6gk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
if you consider allowing a team to score 119 pts in a game "defense" then I guess so. The only reason Heat shot such a high % was because Wade couldnt miss. Put his 17-24 night at about oh... 11 or so for 24 and its a diff story.
