I wanted to see Joey Dorsey battle it out down in the paint. I bet you he wasn't tired from last game.
I finally get to sit in the Lower Bowl, Club Level... and the Rockets put up the worst defensive performance in team history. ugh. Ariza wasn't even that bad, I couldn't complain too much about the offense. Never seen Wade work Shane so bad before.
He was unstoppable, this is really becoming a concerning trend right now. I'm afraid the gaps in our defense are really starting to show. Teams are attacking us without fear now because they realized they just have to side-step the charge and not have to fear the shot blocker.
wow i was right in the game thread that wade would get 37 points i was wrong about the outcome though
True about CBud's defense but it was the same for all the other Rockets too, at least in tonight's game. I would not single him out in this game. It is also frustrating that the Rockets PG's do not look for CBud in the offense, especially when he starts hitting his shots. This game showed once again why Brooks is not really a PG. He hasn't learned how to run the fast break until this time. His scoring too suffers when he is roughed up by the opposing guards.
I say this half jokingly but who on Milwaukee is gonna torch us or go for their season/career high in something? Becoming sorta a trend as of late.
the way we're playing, we'd be lucky to get into the playoffs with the thunder, hornets, and the jazz breathing down our necks. ARIZA! step up!
You wont see Joey Dorsey anytime soon unless in garbage time but then still you might not even see him. He dont have a future on this team imo
It was brutal. I haven't seen Landry manhandled like that before, either. We have to hope it was a hangover from the 3 overtimes, or else teams are going to look at tape of this game and rub their hands with gleeful anticipation at playing the Rockets. Very jealous of your seats, by the way. The biggest downside to living in Austin is not living where the Rocks are playing. Thought I'd add that we saw a superstar come into our building tonight and just kick our ass. Yeah, that's a very obvious point to make, but you rarely see a display quite like that. We slow them down, make them work, make the other guys beat us. Not this time. Not even close.
Landry seems to be flustered with double teams. He needs to figure out how to pass the ball and reposition. This is indeed an experimental year. Not making the playoffs is not really a big deal since we were not going to contend anyways, but I think we have had enough of a sample to say things are not working out and a change is in order.
We do all know that, but we're spoiled. Once the team showed they can beat the elite and good teams in the league, that is what we expect now.
Adleman is too damn stuborn. He needs to find someone other than Ariza and Budinger to play the SG spot, like T-Mac or Taylor. It has been just god awful watching the Ariza experiment.
I'm not singling Budinger out either. I was just arguing that he's not yet ready for more minutes or a starting position, and won't be until his defense improves. However, it was pretty clear that Miami recognized Budinger's post-up defense as a weak link and exploited it whenever they could. As for his offense, he took 9 shots in 21 minutes, which I think is plenty. Maybe they could've looked for him a bit more, I don't know. I thought Adelman ran quite a few plays for Budinger on the offense. And looking at the play-by-play, his shots were assisted by not just Lowry, but also Landry, Brooks and Andersen. This shows that his teammates were looking to get him his shots. As for Brooks, I thought he could've been a bit more aggressive offensively in the first half (fatigue?). He looked flustered by Alston and Miami's good help defense the rest of the night.
