Ok, let's be totally honest, Rafer is shooting under 50% on his layup drives this year, he does NOT usually finish there. I don't mind the effort but he went in against taller, quicker players and left himself no passing option, it was a boneheaded drive...and then leaving Bibby wide open...inexcusable. I do give him props for the 2 steals though, those were NICE... DD
Great logic there, chief. Maybe we should sign Hakeem and ask him to play, because... well, have you seen him play during his career? When you're going into a game, you have to look at recent trends. If Tracy hasn't tried on defense or offense all year long, and has averaged 8 points in the last two weeks, why would today be any different. His presence on the court is a negative.
I just replayed the final 38 seconds and their was no attempt to post up Yao. You don't know if the ball would have gone to Yao, and by the looks of it, there was no attempt to pass the ball to Yao's side of the floor.
1. We played with heart tonight 2. We should foul them in the end because we have one foul to give 3. Wafer > Tmac 4. Deke better get in shape as soon as possible 5. Another loss, but i love rockets more after tonight
You aren't telling me that after seeing the debacle of the Bucks, Wizards and raptors game that you still expected the current roster to be 'contending'? Dreams and ideals change by what you've got, and when you have a starting five of Alston-Wafer-Barry-Scola-Yao and go toe to toe with a very hot Hawks team and lose by a buzzer beater, then yes I am proud of hte heart they showed today. Could've used a bit more defence though.
i think he's more pissed than anything...and he probably wants to say something to the players or coaching staff...i think its eating him up
The other day when we posted up Yao at the end of the game everyone complained. Tonight we don't do so and everyone complains.
Errr, did you watch the game? Yao was in hand to hand combat the whole game. You need to chill. I'd like to see you getting a few of those elbows thrown at Yao tonight.
I liked that the Rockets competed today, I just think time is running out for this team to play cohesively. I realize we're not even at the half-way mark and things may change and of course we've been dealing with a rash of injuries...but already, unless a miracle happens, the "championship contender" and "Laker-killer" we were supposed to be is not going to happen this year; who knows how many years the Rockets have left before it's time to just tear down the whole thing and rebuild from scratch? it's kinda depressing thinking about that.
Agreed. He needs to get down to the block better somehow. RA needs to figure out a better way to get Yao established downlow. When he doesn't get the position he wants, he gets a TO
problem: aldeman has to make up his mind: 1.play yao using normal rotation 2 not play him because the current line up is hot
Lets be honest here, there is a reason why we can't win without McGrady in this lineup. If McGrady can play like his usual self, we would be unstoppable right now. Lets hope he starts playing that way..
Forget Tracy's black mail,We will build on this and start winning without him because right now if he would have played today the effort would have been ZERO.
That is my point. I was talking about coming into the season we were expecting to be contenders. Now we are just happy that the team shows heart. That is sad we have to be happy with that this season when we are suppose to be contenders. T-mac needs to look at himself in the mirror. Yao needs to play better in the 4th. Ron just needs to get better. Same with Shane
I agree with Bullard and Worrell. I am very proud of the effort the whole team gave. Defense stepped up some in the fourth but lack of size killed us in the paint. I loved the ball movement and hustle. Aaron Brooks has been struggling but the continued hustle paid off as he started hitting his shots. Too bad he did not make the last one at the end but I am proud of this team anyway. Enjoyable game to watch even though it was a heartbraker at the end. GO ROCKETS!
