artest will eventually get healthy (it's a damn ankle sprain that EVERYBODY has gotten one if they played any type of sports). it simply needs 1-2 weeks of pure rest. battier will get healthy enough b/c all we need him to do is play defense and shoot 3s. tracy will eventually get his head together mentally and deal with his problems somehow and get right. he always get it together. people said the same things about him LAST YEAR (which is why i'm unsure why people are shocked now. DD ranted off on him last yr that he faked the knee injury and was quitting on the team, so all these new allegations aren't new). he'll be fine in a month or so (but he needs to sense urgency right now). that's why i'm still not panicking like 99% of this board. i still believe at the end of the year, we'll hae a top 3 seed, get at least to the WCF and lose to the lakers in the finals.
well i mean only being a lottery team. trust me, im worried about this team and a certain player, but im pretty confident we'll make the playoffs.
Sounds like most people aren't worried because of the 22 game winning streak last year. That doesn't happen very often.
i KNOW we wont be getting the streak this year, but we're just fighting for playoff spot with only 1 team (my guess is utah). we'll be alrit
We can make the playoffs I'm just not confident. We are putting our hope into T-mac being there mentally and physically unless we trade him. Putting our hope in T-mac being there mentally and physically this year is scary.
Agreed this team needs chemistry and good consistent play. That is hard to do with the rotation changing every game.
this board has some of the most pessimistic and unreasonable fans in the world. yes we're struggling (but every team goes through its peaks and troughs through a season). i mean, i'm sure the colts panicked when they were 3-4 right? sure there needs to be more urgency with the team, but the season is not lost and the team still has enough time to fix things and right the ship. we have the talent to play with anybody. now we just needs guys to get healthy and their minds straight to play with anybody. and i'm sure we will do that. we don't need a 22 game winning streak to do that. i'm not an optimist, i'm a realist. i know we're not going to win a championship this year. but i know we're going to go deep in the playoffs.
this one could've been had. it is partly on adelman, imo. we were having a little run in the 4th, but he subbed yao in a bit late. at 7 minute mark we were up by 4, when yao came back at 5 minute mark it was a tied game - after 2 bad possessions. yao touched the ball twice in offense after that. one turnover, one walk (where he actually got fouled). i don't know if anyone keeps track of yao's touches. he scored zero points in the second half - after a great first half. he manufactured some fouls on the hawks and that's pretty much it. something is not quite right there. and wtf was the last play call? with 30 seconds left, why go for a rushed 2-for-1? even if it was intended as a 2-for-1, rafer should have gone off earlier. if it was not a 2-for-1, then wtf was it? why use 5 seconds and left the hawks a complete 24? not sure if that's adelman's call or rafer's decision. a painful loss after last night. but at least it was a decent game against a team that had a better record than ours going into the game. we're basically playing a brand new lineup for both the starters and reserves out there. other than deke, adelman used all the players he could use.
huh really? because you know, i've used that one a lot. f*** originality, who needs them with ballsack jokes, amirite? Ok, I can understand where you are coming from, but you need to back up and realize that the talent discrepancy is so big that eventually, it's going to cost the Rockets several games if they don't use the best talent available. Whether you like it or not (and I know you don't), McGrady is an above average player. Compared to our other options (Luther, Wafer, Brooks? and playing Battier once he's back from injury out of position), it's just detrimental to the team to be playing with such a lag in talent at the SG position.
Who will miss the playoffs this year in the West? Looks like now is the race between the Rockets and the Jazz. It all depends which one of these 2 teams will beat the injury bugs and make the playoffs!
Take it how you want it and its not his fault, but as soon as yao came back in, the offense bogged down and he turned the ball over.
and for anyone who said we played hard and still lost - with a sarcastic tone or not - i say screw you. it's much better than last night's 4-on-5 blowout.
yao just doesn't fit with adelman (esp. if he has to carry the load without tracy or ron). it's weird. how can you not find a way to utilize a good scoring big man like yao tonight? adelman is weird.
