Agree, BUT: I would have kept AB on the court, this time, until the end. 2nd: If you're gonna trust in Kyle, you gotta make the substitution earlier. Same with Martin. 3rd: Extremely conservative with Hayes. 4th: Having Chuck height problems with Zach (he shooted over him every time), why don't give a chance to your 6-11 PF? Especially with that production from Jordan Showcased Hill. * Yes, we are limited. Yes, this roster is really hard to handle. But if your team is deciding 80% of games in the last minutes... Rick Adelman is not your coach.
People critcized me for opening a thread about obtaining z-bo. If 29,19 is not good enough....... Such a tough loss though. Lowry was definitely not himself tonight because he didn't go for the usual +20pts and +10 assists like usual. I hope the Rockets can rebound for the Orlando game and get a win there
Yes the stop making calls in the second half, but then Gay was getting all his calls even phantom one That final foul on Hayes really hurt us. And Battier got some fouls call on him really really bad.
I want the team to win and root for them to win, but (and maybe I'm getting old) losses are just one more step closer to change. We know the best case scenario for this team is to make the playoffs and hope to buck the odds by knocking off a top opponent. That's the extent of it though. Championship contention? No way. I'm just so much more invested and interested in how Morey is going to build this team and what changes he's going to make. Could be an immediate boost, and that would be fine, but I don't care if it is or not... I just want to start seeing a post-Yao plan unfold.
Never seen a team so scared of Huge Leads. It's as if they don't think they deserve it... Adelman has seen this team screw up leads time and time again; I dont understand why when a lead gets down to 5 or 7, he doesn't want to call a timeout to settle down the team. He sits there hopping AB will be the calming factor but he tries to calm the team down by launching an ill-advised three or dribbling into 3 people...
What was that about Jordan Hill? The dude can't even stop Mbenga if his life depended on it. Jeffries needs to play. We need some semblence of defense in the middle when the game is on the line.
CHOKE CITY when the game is on the line i know the rockets lost but i still keep the tv on in hope tht the rockets would pull a miracle, winning.
Well the fact that he was on the bench for like most of the 4th quarter..you can't really expect him to get all "hot" after being out for some time.
Yes bring on the Post Yao era and by the looks of things the sooner the better. Clutch do you think the team will use or let the exemption for Yao injury expire?
I really don't see how or what change could help this team, looking at it now I like Morey, but this team is all just expendable role players. Hard to watch till a change is made.
Did it matter? it was us getting free throws that ended it both teams drought and gave us a 5 pt lead. That we then went turnover brick brick turnover etc after that isn't Rick's fault.
Thats exactly my position. Its just when the Rockets lose it always drives me nuts. My wife hates me when they lose too.
Really? with Tmac out, Mutombo going down against Portland and Yao half way thru game 3 of a 7 game series against the Lakers? he should have won with that? WTF
It's ok if we wanna find mistakes Rick made because he did, but lose is on the bench. Starters gave them lead so many times and they played **** to say the least. Brooks and Hill just killed us. If they had played even decent, we would not be noticing Adelman's mistakes.
i realize you're just a rick adelman complaining autobot, but i'll respond anyway. our starters were on the court when we blew the lead. lowry came in with 3:16 left and we were up 106-103. then we scored 4 points the rest of the way, with 2 of those being the free points we got when gasol ran over martin. scola dropped that on pass out of bounds, lowry dribbled out the clock on another possession, and martin missed a wide open jumper with about a minute left, while zach randolph is making circus shots. sometimes you're players just don't make plays. how many people have been on the court at the ends of games for us this season? i'm guessing almost all of them. and how many have come through? i'd say almost none of them. somehow this team runs very nice offense for about 45 minutes and then just forgets everything it practices the last 3 and abso-friggin-lutely no one ever makes a ****ing even remotely difficult shot down the stretch. it's hard to close games that way.
