This game couldve been won if the Rockets played consistant. But i think Adelman needs to do a lot better with his rotations. Scola and Lowry shouldve had more rest especially near the end of 3rd quarter. They also have to establish a go to guy down the stretch. They couldve kept working into Scola and try to make Bulls double team. But there were too many dribbles and no flow to the offence. Losing two 8 points leads just not acceptable. For this team to be successful, they definitely need Yao , Brooks and Bud back asap. Im really impressed by the way Bulls played. Rose is a superstar and he really led his bulls to victory in the fourth. They do play really good defence. Once boozer comes back, they are gonna be great team to watch.
oh my what happened?? I watched the game until the end of the 3rd quarter, then I have to leave. When I got back suddenly we lost and judging from the posters here, things got ugly in the 4th quarter. Another 4th quarter meltdown..
Did you notice that while Scola was on court, Rockets had a +23? How come the Rockets without Scola can have a -26 overall score against the Bulls? Can a team be so disoriented without his best player?
Mann..Van Gundy must be eager to coach this team and prove his prediction right that it will be Houston Rockets in the Finals
This is another reason I am convinced that we need Yao coming off the bench and playing at the end of quarters. Scola is ultra efficient. He's working and he is very productive when he is isolated on the block. He did all that wrecking against double and triple teams, against one of the top defenses in the NBA. It was incredible to watch him probe the defense, back it down, all the while, watching for the defensive help coming back door. He is a surgeon down there. If it wasn't for Scola, we would have got blowed out by 40. With Yao out, we have zero low post players other than Scola.
First of all, I never said that "the one thing from this game that get is that Courtney Lee should start." It would depend on who we'd trade Martin for, and who, out of Lee & Bud, Adelman thinks would be better to save on the bench. The thing I realized (finally) was summarized very succinctly by another poster: B/c he's great at shooting and drawing fouls, we depend on Martin all throughout the game, including the 4th quarter, at the expense of other players (Bud, Lee, Taylor, etc.). However, if he's playing piss-poor defense and disappearing on offense in the 4th instead of taking over - which we need our "star" to do - then we need to be honest with ourselves and trade him.
Yet there were people complaining of him being overpaid..... Scola is far better than common fans value him.....Even his D is not that bad....he played good D tonight, and it will always happen when perimeter D is at least decent, like tonight..... The problem is with crappy perimeter D, as I always say, even a tandem of Hakeem/Rodman at their prime would have a lot of troubles with a tandem Brooks/Martin in the perimeter D.
Its not quite time to do this yet, but at some point if the Rockets end up say 7-13 around Christmas time, Morey and Les need to step in and put pressure on Adelman before its too late. Rick needs to play the young guys who are the Rockets future if they are ever going to get better. Players get worse by sitting the bench and Hayes and Battier should not be in the long term future of the franchise. If this team wants to do anything in the second half of the season with the roster they have now, Jordan Hill is going to be the difference maker and he has to get better. He may get foulded out a few times or make a few turnovers, but he is a difference maker on the defensive end and has to be on the floor to improve.
Would have won by 2 if Lowry's 5 points counted, and also our guys like Chase, AB, and Yao injured.. So I say we did pretty darn good and Brad Miller is puttin it on for sure!!!
wait, so you would do away with all fan whining? WHAT KIND'VE FAN ARE YOU!!!! lol btw, you forgot threads about the refs. Honestly, I missed the game because of work, but it seems like there's extra whining tonight about refs and also whatever happened with 32 seconds left. If Rick actually said to foul, then thats just stupid. I dont care if Rose is hot or not, you never just GIVE points away when you can play D for 1 play and try to tie. During the Adelman era I've never really questioned his abilities, and I know he's been a wonderful coach in this league for a long time - but this season there are obvious things that are starting to get on all of our nerves. I'm not saying any of us could do better overall at all, but just some of those specific choices.... you wonder whats going through his head? The stats show that the bench barely got any playing time. Whats with JHill? Why does he take out players when they're hot? Why does he insert players that have been awful and then leave them in during the most important stretches of the game? Why does he love turtlenecks so much? Why cant he ever draw up a play for the end of the game that even gets a real chance of a shot off? Why doesnt he wear a tie? bah, I'm tired of typing these things. 3-7 = argh, but not the end of the world. We've seen worse. Its just annoying. Other teams are starting well and will have their ups and downs, but we STARTED down, down, down, and have to hope theres a huge up.
btw, all I know about this game is this: I was about to get off work and I checked my cell phone again. Rockets had been down by a few points anytime I looked before, but it was the end of the 3rd and Houston was up 8. GREAT, right? So then I check 4 basketball-minutes later when I'm leaving... 10-pt Bulls lead? W T F? I dont care what happened or who people are blaming, refs, RA, wtvr, our team allowed an 18-0 run for the Bulls. That is unacceptable. take away the Lowry shots, the questionable no-calls, etc and so on. 18-0 is simply unacceptable, and is the sole reason why we lost. Thats poor offense and defense, which is simply all basketball is.
