Just watched the game this morning.

    A few thoughts:
-Team played well, lost because a few critical mistakes late.
-Scola's interior defense is atrocious, why he gets a pass is beyond me.
    -Really like Lee's game

I wouldnt fret too much about the loss. 2nd night of a b2b on the road vs a full strength Bulls team. One we get Yao/AB back and everyone gets into thier proper spots and rotations, we will be a much better team.

This pain and major dissapointment will make future wins so sweet. Nice game winner, Rose. It won't happen again against the Rockets.

I don't think the ball is dead after a made second free throw. The wording there is a bit confusing, but I don't remember a team ever calling a 20 second timeout after a 2nd made free throw when they don't have possession.

yeah i can't remember that either....i think in this case "dead" is when the ball is out of bounds on it's own or when the refs calls for it. When the free throw is made it's immediately caught by the other team and taken out, but not touched by the ref or floor. Technically a dead ball based on that definition, but not really, not sure why.

I didn't think he could call that timeout because the possession changed to the Bulls when it went through the net. We need a reffing expert ;)

The point still stands that he should have put Chuck in for Luis to play that final defensive possession.

i dont think anyone has brought this up....but it looks like brad actually was trying to foul Noah. Noah didn't have the ball very long and Miller lunged at him the moment he got it, nothing was called, noah gave it right back to Rose, and then pushed Lee back enough where Lee couldnt foul Rose.

Seems like a mixture of the refs swallowing their whistle an Noah making a heads up play...not players not knowing what to do.

yeah it is, its why you can technically get a delay of game for not picking the ball up, if it was a "dead ball" you could in theory take a time out without actually calling one.

Whereas a deadball always goes dead -> ref -> team. (e.g. free throws always having to go to the ref)

    Thanks.

I hope the rest of the team does not get sick from whatever KM has.

Should've won this one...but then again we're the Rockets & we always find a way to lose close games.

Scola's offense makes up for the bad D. I think that's why he usually gets a pass.

Looking forward to having this team at full strength... ish. Yao won't be at full strength the entire season.

It was very fast, but it did not look like that to me. He went brain dead for a split second imo, but that split second cost the Rockets the game.

You don't call a time out and allow Chicago to advance the ball to center court and set up a play.....

The only way you call a time out is before the FTs or after the first one.......which you can do......

Its easy to blame Adelman or B-rad for what they did or didn't do. Ultimately, the game was lost due to free throws. Plain and simple.
