If the team is not discipline enough...there is nobody to blame but the coach. The coach should have gotten to the players ears for making this huge mistake so that they don't do it again next time. But Adelman is NOT that type of coach...so he is always going to be a problem. If it's Jeff Van Gundy coaching, the players wouldn't be this dumb. They would be smarter...why? Because they're going to be disciplined by Jeff Van Gundy.
I agree...if i really want them to foul and they're not doing it, then i'll be screaming and waving my hands, not just holding them up. If that's RA's way of getting it across, then it sucks, but i dont think it was. I think it was simply an option that neither the coach or players wanted to take and used it after the game to ease the pain. The way they had rose running around i can't blame them. If miller steps out, that's a fadeaway shot rose has to take, not a straight up pull up jumpshot. A split second decision by Miller changed all that..but they lost the game well before that.
I thought this team is supposed to be smart by the outstanding characters of all the players. But apparently, when playing under pressure, they're not sooo smart. This include coach Adelman. This team throw away so many games based on bad coach decision...i don't even care anymore.
If I was a player out there and my team was up by three with only 10 seconds to go I would foul the opposition immediately regardless of whether or not the coach wanted it. It's the logical thing to do
The thing is it may not have been logical in this case...like it's been pointed out already, Rose doesn't always shoot the 3 this well...for soem reason he's insane against Houston and a streak like that can go south at any moment, so rose is technically a poor 3 pt shooter. Then consider that boozer had been having his way with scola. He took 2 off rebounds for putbacks in the last 24 secs of the game and tipped another to give chicago a second posession early in overtime. I dont know if he was tired or what, but boozer probably would have a good shot at getting an offensive rebound of Rose's FT miss. It's not as clear cut as it seems...
we need a 3point shot to tie the game, yet we have lowry and scola in the final possesion. And that shot/play Rick drew was seriously WTF.
And why Scola was quiet deep guarding the paint inside? Obviously I would give them a 2 pointer and prolong the game with FTs, which isn't what Bulls want because of the time running out. Scola should've been near the 3 point territory to help Lee and Miller as it was quiet clear Rose was going to Shoot a 3. But yeah, people saying Noah held the ball around 1-2 seconds and it was our chance to foul him.. Well, what's done is done.. We shoot ourselves in the foot with those missed FTs after hanging around the game and eventually took the lead admirably. Yao and Brooks coming back, and I hope its only good news to come
He had flu. but hes not really K-brick. The real brick is Chabrickse Brickdinger aka "The Brick G" 0-6 fg 0-3 3fg 1-2 ft.
The guy is a SHOOTER. He can't make shots to save his life, maybe the ankle ain't 100% yet. But if he can't shoot he can't do anything. He is not a great ball handler and he is not really driving. I am shocked with his play.
I'm not even mad at Lee, at least he was guarding the 3 point line unlike a certain Luis Scola guarding Boozer for no reason.
It's the easiest enough action to foul if the coaches gave you instructions to foul. They were in penalty situation. What do you mean, don't foul too early? We give them two shots, and get the ball back. I doubt RA told them to foul at all. This is just RA throwing his players again under the bus. CLee for all his BBIQ might have failed to implement the instruction to foul, but Brad Miller??? Smart-aleck Brad. This is pure bull. RA is really a poor in-game coach. And that's why we're always losing these close endgames. No AB to make his life easy. No creativity, no imagination at all to surprise or throw the other team off. Like the last play, there was not even an attempt to screen. He doesn't even believe in situational substitutions. I mean last play in regulation, send Chuck and JJ in there. Well, lose enough of these won games and we'll never get over .500
Oh and by the way, it was not even to foul or not to foul. Instructions should have been "Swarm the 3 pt line." Scola said the team made a lot of mistakes. Why he was even near the key guarding Boozer is really beyond me.
The look on Chuck's face after Rose's shot ... priceless. Must be thinking: "Man, I should have been the one guarding him."
Adelman Last time out when Houston was trailing 116-119 in OT Adelman: "REF TIMEOUT!" Referee: " *Blows his whistle* there you go coach" -Player gathers around Adelman to talk about the last play in hope to send the game to overtime- Adelman: "So guys, here is what we gonna do for the last play.......... Players: " ..............." Adelman: " ..............." Players: "Coach? the time is running out" Adelman: "...................... goodluck guys, that is all I can say" Players: "..................Thanks coach.." The rest is history
