It just....sighs... It's not that bad in the long run, we play Detorit-Mil next. Had this game though...had it.
Hey DreaMac, how about not assuming what point a person was trying to convey to another? By the way, if we put in Martin for free throws, he might have pulled a Nick Anderson and clanged one or two of them AND failed to play defense in those final seconds and made it a done deal for the Bulls in regulation? And DON'T talk to me about being an old member (there are people that have been here since '99)!
Trust the guys that got you back in the game, valid point. But at some point of time, he should've made some minor adjustments to keep pressure on the Bulls or counter. So Brad makes 1 of 2, can't blame a miss FT. If, there is another option to help cover for the miss FT, you take it. A foul, they take 2FT, time runs out and possibly game over. Like I said, he did a great job thoughout the game to get us back in this, but to close it out? Not so good.
You're correct. End of reg, we should have been guarding that 3pt line. Don't know why Scola was way under the 3pt line and had to lunge out at Rose
Okay. He could have missed two shots sure, but he's a 90 percent FT shooter. I'll live with those odds thank you.
Yes but he WAS playing and did look pretty good. Even if he is paralyzed from chest down and is playing in a wheelchair, he will still knock down his freethrows.
RA: "KM is a 90% FT shooter, Lowry is a 70% FT shooter, so KM misses 1 in 10 while Lowry misses 3 in 10, 3>1, therefore Lowry wins."
This one is on Adelman, we keep saying "oh well, next time", problem is that his decision making has been very questionable this season and when your team is already playing shorthanded, that makes it even harder to win a game.
Forget the stomach virus excuse. If he can play he can play. Don't tell me you think the highest paid player on the roster doesn't deserve to play in the 4th/overtime.
Lee could not foul what he could not catch (DRose). "I wanted to jump on top of him and keep him down. I was going to try to foul him."
All you did was told me to stop making knee-jerk thread as soon as you read Adelman in the title, failing to stay on topic. Anyways, I would live with a 90% freethrow shooter choking instead of a 70% FT shooter
And the alternative was also a 90% free throw shooter in Brad Miller. The Rockets had players that they trust to take free throws in the game. The reason Martin wasn't put in was because he was sitting for a long time and was cold (more likely to miss) and because it would have severely compromised our defense which, in a tight game, is critical. Not fouling on the final possession is a legit gripe, IMO, but keeping Martin glued to the bench isn't.
free throws were much more important than defense at that point. granted, you can't guarantee that a sick martin will definitely get the ball, but i would take 4 KM ft's + his bad D in that situation, since it was pretty much going to be the rose show and you just would have to make sure KM wasn't on rose for some strange reason. chicago scored on every possession anyway and yet if we hit our ft's we still have a 2 point lead even if there was somehow time left.
@Jonathan_Feigen Lee could not foul what he could not catch (DRose). "I wanted to jump on top of him and keep him down. I was going to try to foul him."
He's not just a center. He's a 3pt shooting center. He's not going to get many rebounds hanging out on the 3 pt line. As long as he's hitting he belongs out there. The rest of the team has to crash in and get rebounds.
