He was sick, what do you want? If he was put in the game and missed the freethrow, you would be slamming Adelman for putting him in. Shut up.
Hey Damion Laverne, how about not criticizing an old member less than a month after joining a board in an attempt to look cool?
Heart and willpower? Like the poster you quoted, we didn't lay down for the Bulls when the going got tough. We stuck with our guns, and unfortunately, it didn't pan out. Sure, the W/L record is a huge factor in the NBA, but heart and willpower are right up there with it, imo.
The problem isn't not having a "superstar." It's not playing defense. You can add Carmelo Anthony to this team and you'll still have the same issues with two many one-sided players, who can score but not play defense. Take a look at this year's defense versus years past. All of the good Rockets teams of the past few years played defense. How about holding the other team's score down so you're not in a position to let them tie the game at the buzzer? It doesn't matter how well Brad Miller fits the team's offense if they don't play defense.
I was not on the Rockets bench to see exactly how sick Martin was, but Adelman was on the bench, so I'm going to let him make the call. You were not there, you do not know if Martin was capable of going back in or not. Have you ever been sick? Sometimes it hits you very hard and you just can't go any more. I think Martin probably hit that wall, and the coach made the decision. I also wish Martin had been in the game, but he was sick and the coach made a decision. You don't have all the facts, you were not there!
I get that Lee was playing great defense. I completely understand that...but if you hit your FTs game is over. You have a 90 percent FT shooter just sitting there when all that needs to be done is hit your FTs.
LOL at all of you idiots blaming Miller for the loss. 34 year old sub MLE salaried guy scoring 20pts in 24 mins on close to 50% FGs and 3ptrs filling in for Yao and getting minutes over Hill and Hayes. And you are blaming him? How about Budinger's 0-6 shooting? Or how about the strategy NOT to foul with a 3pt lead? Blaming Miller? ridiculous.
Tough, tough, tough loss. Would have been a huge win, the kind that can turn the season around. Looking at the schedule though, we have 10 of 12 against sub.500 teams before a brutal (no, seriously brutal) January. A nice streak would be great.
Its another same topic in a new post. Get over it. What have the Rockets done for me lately? How is this question relevant or make any sense? If you must know, its a basketball game so I dont need the Rockets to "do" anything for me. Im criticizing, sue me.
This I agree with. The reason he's given for not liking to foul was because he feels the defensive team is at a disadvantage on the free throw rebounding in those situations.
You don't have all the facts either. All I know is he was balling in the 3rd. and dude jumped off the bench when Miller hit that 3.
Exactly. They were out of time outs. You absolutely have to foul, specially if the ball is in the hands of Noah. Even if he manages to hit both freethrows and we get fouled, whether we hit or miss on FT there is barely enough time left for them to go the length of court and get a good shot up.
Adelman is not be blamed, Rockets fought back into this game, had it won, but great players make great plays. May this game be a lesson for the Rox, FTs are must makes in the last 2 mins of a game. Spoiler
Actually, for whatever reason on that play it almost looked like Miller tried to steal the ball from Noah and lunged out inside of him, so when Rose used him for a pick, he was out of position. He was still late closing, but I think it is just because Miller is slow. All in all, it was dumb defense. Everyone should have been on the 3pt line and switch everything. Heck, if you not going to foul why not use Miller and Lee to trap Rose in the in bound or as soon as he crosses the half court line. Heck, if Noah hits a 3 against that, then more power to him.
