Ron did jack up too many shots there at the end, but that was partly because we wasted so much time trying to get Yao the ball. Other teams know how to finish games on us, front Yao... RA needed to draw up some other plays, other than spread the floor and try and get Yao the ball... If the play doesnt work the first couple times, try something else.
In the Mavs game, they used Yao and Scola to set picks for AB to start the offense.... That should have happened in this game too, but Ron had the ball super glued to his hands. DD
The reason why we lost is because when the defense knows how to stop Yao we have to resort to a jump shooting team. I'm amazed that no other teams pick it up but if you just front Yao with an athletic Big you can stop the Rockets well at least have a very good chance. Yao is our bread and butter on offense and we look so lost if we can't get get Yao to post up. Sure Ron was jacking it up at the end but he had no choice. Yao for some reason couldn't get Brad Miller or Tyrus Thomas behind him. I hope every team does this to Yao so we can learn from it and have a chance at the playoffs. I would hate teams to start using this strategy when it's to late for us to adjust (playoffs)
Do we have to live and die with Ron's jumper? When Ron falls love with jumper, does he have any difference with one leg T-Mac on offense?
I just said the same thing about using this as a lesson to be learned. The GARM game thread guys were screaming for Adelman to take AB out as soon as Rose started dominating the game, its obvious that he's going to have problems with guys that are bigger or just as fast like Rose and Deron Williams. Adelman has to have a hair trigger on subbing Lowry into the game for AB.
Yep... Rather than trying to set picks, and run plays, they wasted time trying to get Yao the ball. Ron was on fire the whole game, then went ice cold the last few minutes. We seem to own other teams, then get lazy and let them catch up. By the time we realize we arnt up by double digits anymore, they are streaking too hard to stop. Oh well, S*** happens. Lets bounce back tonight.
they are not going to guard Yao very tight if he's around the perimeter once in a while. Pick n POP. Cmon how hard is that.
Yep, the reason we lost is because of Yao ... the all-star * cream of the crop * all-world best center in the league, who couldn't even use his 7'6 300+ pound body to body out a semi-scrub like Miller for a TOUCH. Not a score here people, a TOUCH! Reeee-diculous. Now I don't know whether that all comes down to coaching, or whether that's 100% on Yao ... but the reason Artest had to chuck 'em, was all the RESULT of Yao & his inability to get any position whatsoever. sadsadsad
is this really what I'm hearing? If you guys use this kind of justification for Ron how come you butchered t-mac during the knicks game. There is nothing seperating this Ron from that T-mac now. Sure he scored points throughout the game but he's the worst decision maker on the roster, lets give the ball to wafer and let him attack the basket, thats way more efficient than a 26 foot 3. Ron might close 1/10 games out with that kind of play.
And plus, Brooks doesn't have many games under his belt as a starter. REEFER has been a starter for a long time and he still sucks. After that "fast" start w/ the Magic, he's back to the old REEFER. I'm patient that Brooks will learn from his mistakes and the Lowry/Brooks combo will run this Adelman offense just fine.
IMO, they would have won last night if they would have had the confidence to minimize Ron's impact...and take the ball away from him....force HIM to play within the offense. Ron killed the team last night late, he just went nuts......but it is the coaches fault for not taking the ball away, as well as the PGs....just FORCE him to play within the flow. I am not worried, this is a new crew finishing the games, Ron has to learn to TRUST his teamates in key situations...that comes with time... DD
how did hakeem get out alive from seattle's illegal tactics? I've never had the stomach to wacth that series again. I think if you can't get the ball to yao, get it in to ouicho and let luis work his magic.
The real reason why we lost was because Thomas would not let the bulls die in the 3rd... After each shot we would hit, he'd drive to the rim and create his own shot... Maybe if someone would dunked on him....
