Maybe this year, a year that does not matter, wake up.

    No way the next 5.

Honestly, you should consider the possibility of start watching some basketball besides the Rockets, there is life beyond. Watch the teams that win titles and maybe you will learn something.

Well, maybe you should learn the economics of building a team and how wasting the MLE on a player loses you cap space not just this year, but every year going forward.

So missing on a player at the full MLE level is not very good for the organization.

This team could have signed Von for one or two years at a reduced rate instead of signing Albatrossiza and getting stuck for 5 more.

Ya, learn this - Lakers won rings -->> TA was in Lakers -->> TA is in Houston -->> Houston will win with TA.

See, this is simple. Now memorize this.

im with DD on this. Wafer was badass last year and Ariza is DRIVING ME NUTS. Wafer had a excellent midrange game ,block shots, awesome dunks and good three. Ariza stands around all game, turnovers the ball, AIRBALLS atleast once a game, my god Morey blew it. (although that extra 7 million in cap is useless because i dont see wade or bosh or lebron signing here ever, market to small)

I still think he's worth the money bc he is great role player to have. He helped the Lakers win a ring by making huge plays in the playoffs. He was what SJax, Posey, Bowen, or Prince have been in the past on championship teams. You know a Mario Elie type.

It's not an excuse to say that he needs a star or two around him for us to really assess him. There's no doubt that his shooting has been abysmal. His shot selection needs to be improved but he is still young and super athletic.

I will agree that with the role I described sounds awfully similar to the role that is occupied by Battier. One of them off the bench does sound intriguing but at this point, it seems like one of them is going to be shipped out of here soon anyways. Let's see. Morey likes both of them a lot.

    No no no !!

He started 20 games total last year and got hot in the playoffs, but that was because he had ZERO people focused on him....

He is just a square peg in a round hole, the Lakers management knew EXACTLY what they were doing in letting him go......

They put one over on the league and Morey..no doubt...

Trevor was a mistake.....no doubt in my mind....

Even with Yao back...he can not shoot the long ball, he finishes meakly at the rim, can't take on contact, can't shoot free throws well, can't penetrate, is not a creator...

He is 100% a screw up miss.

i cant tell if your being sarcastic but ariza played a small part on a LOADED lakers team. Phil Jackson reigned him in perfectly, Adelman doesnt know how to control Arizas weakpoints.(promises made are going to have to be broken at some point, my guess this summer ariza gets dealt)

If they promised him anything than they are a weaker management team than I have thought.

All they should have said was "You will get a chance to expand your role and your game"

And if he fails....as he is......he should be held accountable.

The problem is that it undermines EVERYTHING from a management perspective that they keep running him out there while he is stinking up the joint.

The other players look around and think to themselves....wtf...why should I try hard to make the cut when I won't get the ball? Trevor doesn't do it...

It is 100% weak management IMO.

It wasn't just on offense. He had two steals on inbound plays to seal victories. His D is what we signed him for.

Hopefully, with the emergence of a star or 2, he can put his effort & mind on defense again.

Nope thanks, I don't want a player that is not valid on a contender rotation, actually I prefer the one who has proved to be a critical piece on a championship team. But in DD's world... surely you prefer Scola or Landry to Odom, surely you think that Farmar and Walton are pure crap, and etc...

    His D?

LOL...his D sucks right now, he can't stay in front of anyone, and with our two SHUT DOWN wings in the starting lineup we are getting blown out in the first quarter on a regular basis.

    He sucks.

As Herm Edwards says "you play to win the game" do you not realize we are a mediocre team and we ARE NOT going to get a good draft pick? If we are in the lottery we probably get a pick from 13-15. I rather have the guys play in the playoffs together than get a non factor draft pick in the mid first round.

You are not being a realist you are being a pessimist. If you think we are going to find a player to make our team elite in next years draft you are flat out wrong.

With that said, our players on this current team have to much heart and pride to "tank" just to get a good draft pick. And who gives a flyin eff if we lose in the first round of the playoffs with this current squad. The playoffs just bring excitement to the city, organization and the fans. And on that note, do you seriously think any team can challenge the Lakers right now for the West? Hell no.

I by no means Ariza-lover. I'm fully aware of his strength and weakness, and I'm certain that blame all the losses on Ariza is truely being unfair to him.

If you can't see he is playing in a totally different role from last season, then please laugh as much as you like. You won't get the point anyway.

It's certainly too early to draw conclusion before we have the full roster in place next year. This team is 40 mil dollar short for God sake. That's not an excuse. If he can't do any better wiht Yao coming back, that would be the time to hate him on.

Nothing wrong for me to say I'd be disappointed if AB shoots 3/14. His only attribute is offense, if he can't do that, he has no value. But Ariza is different, his strong suit is other par of the game, not offense. So 3/14 is not nearly as bad as AB's 3/14. I see nothing wrong in that.

I know, I know. It was never Ariza's fault that he shoots 3/14 or 4/20 every night. "See, he is given with a role that he is not used to"

So who is the idiot asking a donkey to run like a stallion? RA or DM?

    Morey really blew this one.

    DD is right on this.
