the bulls are far from a crap east team. they took the celtics to 7 games in the playoffs. they have a top 5 PG in Rose and are an all around offensively talented team. our biggest advantage is Brooks and Landry, but tonight Brooks was negated by rose, probably his worst matchup as far as opposing PG's.
I think C-Bud just needs minutes to lock in his shooting; he seems to need enough touches to get in rhythm. I still believe he has great potential. If he got Ariza's minutes, he might be putting up 20+ every night and at a higher percentage. Which isn't saying much since Ariza has one of the lowest shooting percentages in the league. This was a bad loss, every home loss is a very bad loss. No excuses, both teams had back to backs.
I still can't believe how many people thought Ariza was somehow going to blossom into something else besides what he is. If his play continues to deteriorate, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of the league in a couple years.
Damnit, I just paid an arm and a leg for his jersey at the Rox ship before the season started. I learned my lesson.
Chicago looked very impressive. They lost focus in the second half, but when they were on, they moved the ball well, dominated the paint in both offense and defense, made their jump shots, etc. They were a lot better than I expected.
You can't be a Rockets fan without putting up with extremely dissapointing losses. Yes. But this actually reminded me of that Josh Smith putback against the Hawks earlier this season. Box your god damn man out for once...
I really doubt that. Ariza's defense was quite good, he just needs to play his role when Yao comes back or another star player is in the line-up. Ask Brooks to be the defensive stopper you will fail, ask Ariza to be offens creator you will be fail too. It's all about talent level on this team, not totally Ariza.
This is nothing like the Philadelphia game last year. THAT was awful. Our wakeup call game hasn't been that atrocious just yet.If we lost to Minnesota, that would have been it I think.
OMG people shut up about us being in the lottery and it will be a pipe dream if we even got the number 1 pick. We have a very legitimate shot of making the playoffs. Its so effing annoying when we lose 1 freaking game people lose their minds and think its the end of the season...well its not, the Rockets dont usually really heat up until after the all-star break anyways...mark my words. And for Ariza, he killed us tonight, and i agree that there was some extra incentives for him to sign (like he will always have the green light to shoot no matter what). But I think he has done a decent job for an MLE player even though i would still rather have Artest for the same freakin price. Other than that we just have to take care of business on Monday. Everything will be ok red nation!
If an SG/SF were brought in, I'd rather have Battier start and have Ariza come off the bench. A second unit of Lowry/Budinger/Ariza/Landry/Andersen is pretty much perfection. The problem, though, would be finding enough minutes for all four wings.
Wrong, it is also all about skill levels. And Trevor only started 20 games last year for the Lakers and then we give him a full MLE deal......in HOPES that he becomes more than he is....or has ever been. A 20mpg player who is about the 5th option and scores on put backs and steals. He is not skilled enough at 24 to ever be more than that. Can you name a similar player who learned to dribble the ball after the age of 24? I think he will suck with Yao too, because he can't shoot the danged ball.....teams will do what they do now.....leave him all alone to shoot. And, when he does...which the offense calls for....he sucks.... He is LAST in the NBA in shooting out of players that qualify...DEAD STINKING LAST !! DD
This was exactly what I was wondering about all night. The poor shooters and supposed to be "PG's" were the ones taking most of the shots instead of looking more for their more open team mates. Budinger was shooting great and yet his team mates, starting with the PG's, were not looking for him but instead were looking for their own shots first. On the other hand, Budinger should really start looking for his shots more and to initiate the offensive attack more than he is doing. He is capable of making plays and he should only think of pass first when he has made the play and a shot was not there, otherwise, he should look for his shot first and be one of the primary shooters since his shot is way better than the rest of his team mates. By the way his passing is excellent too. Adelman might want to ask his players to start looking for Budinger and to set him up more. He has the talent and skill to be an awesome offensive player for the Rockets.
See, you should not say anything against Ariza - that is not politically correct. See, Chronicle "embedded reporter" JF never say anything bad about him. Remember, take a deep breath and say any of the following to people who thinks he is not good - "that is your knee-jerk reaction" or "he is only 24, he has so much potential" or "we will have to be patient with him" "don't look at the score, he does so many other things" --- --- People, fellow board members - how would you reacted if AB or Scola shot 3 of 14 or 2 of 20 night after night ? Why people are so patient with Trevor? He plyed for Lakers, that's why?
Scola's defense has always sucked, it's just that no one talks about it b/c of all he does on the offensive end. He has no lateral quickness and he can hardly keep up with the person he's defending. He defense is only slightly better than David Andersen's.
