he was 2 for 4 from the FT Line... he's shooting under 50% for the season. I'd much rather take my chances with that, rather than attempting to double him and leaving others open.
well, since Hill isnt a very good or smart defender, i dont see how this would help. he blocks shots better, but that doesnt make him a better individual or team defender
now i am 100% sure that this team defensively is bad, really, against the worst offensive team in the league, they let them score 97 points..... same story over and over again, we should all leave them alone for a while, let them figure out.....
It wasn't Brad's fault. It's Russel Crow and the stupid Kevin Scott, who looked like stupid clueless replacement ref.
man highs and lows with this team are annoying, nothing consistent. bud needs to take some time to figure it out on the bench
I think that was the worst game I've seen Scola play in the past two seasons. He was ineffective on both sides of the court, and he just could not hit those outside jumpers tonight. Give credit to the Bucks for being aggressive on the defensive end. Lowry might not have gotten calls in the paint, but IMO this is how the refs will call things in the playoffs. He and the Rockets better get used to it and learn to adjust, because what else can they do. Taylor looked pretty good out there. A total of 26 points from the Lee/Taylor backcourt tonight. They gave Houston some much-needed perimeter offense on a night Lowry and Battier were being neutralized.
Jordan Hill is young, he can get better, you know what you are getting with Miller and Chuck and they just don't go well with Scola against decent opposition.
The best non-championship moment in franchise history, IMO. One of my "I remember where I was" moments...sitting on my couch in College Station next to...wait for it...a Spurs fan. Classic! And yes, I miss it.
Why do a lot of you assume 50 wins are needed to get into the playoffs? 50 wins would probably put us in the 4-5 spot in the conference. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds These predictions seem about right and we would need 41 wins to get in past the Blazers. Im not saying these will be the final standings but they seem about right. With Yao and Brooks back and hopefully playing with an entire team will get our confidence and our chemistry back up and I feel we can win 41 games this year. Obviously things will change, injuries happen, trades happen. 50 wins should not be the minimum we have to get, thats obviously out of the question. I think we could win 40-45 games this year. 32-28 or 37-23 seem more realistic...
Never say never but.... It ain't going happen. So never. We got beat by a better team tonight, and we're talking about the Bucks here. Even when we are healthy they are still the better team. Our lack of muscle and height up front and our lack of a perimeter guy who can pass, shoot, and dribble is a non-starter in today's NBA. Combine that with weak one-on-one defenders and you have a recipe for mediocrity.
yeh, but his defensive potential isnt whats going to win us games now. He may be better slowly as the year goes by, but in general we're going to see him losing his man, mis-timing his jumps, going around the pick constantly and not staying with his new guy, and also giving up strength-size to his thicker opponents. I like JHill, but our problems are because Yao is out and this is who we have. Its not RA's fault of who he has to work with. I think Scola being the worst post-defender in the league is a gross-overstatement of an opinion, and our players and our rotations are what they are. NONE of our big man combos are going to work well against bigger, stronger teams.
That's what happen with mere scorers, when they don't score, they can't help you on the court. Overrated players, in my opinion.
