I think i have been saying that for, ummmmm.........ever now. Both would be great but either one will do. I was the first to say we should look to trade for atleast one of these guys......get it done morey.
Scola should be disgusted with himself. Mohammed and Diaw were taking turns scoring on him. He contributed nothing on the defensive end.
That's one of the dumbest things I've read in a while, his contract is a steal when you look at what teams were offering guys with the same skillset like Chris Bosh.
unfortunatly .....i agree and i dont think it will get that much better...42-40 at best this year. That wont get you but the 14-16 pick in the draft........IT IS WRITTEN.
The Rockets gave us a scare tonight by pulling within 2 towards the end, but stepped-up with a gritty L tonight to keep pace in the ping pong ball chase. Holiday wins only, and this team has a real shot!
Even if we are headed for the lottery, I'm really happy we aren't tanking. At least we are losing the honest way.
Bosh and scola have the same skill set defensively? And maybe this was mentioned already, but looking back at the start of the 3rd when we lost the lead, the bobcats basically decided to take everything inside, either through post up or dribble pentration, and take advantage of our weak interior D and lack of height, before hill could get back in there. They were scoring at the rim or getting kickouts for open jumpers. Not signing Damp is really coming back to hurt us....not giving Hill more minutes is hurting us....we need to sign someone with height, since we refuse to play JJ, or put Hill in the starting lineup and let Scola come off the bench. At the very least, RA needs to be less predictable and make quicker adjustments.
Guys i know its tough, were just not performing the way we should be, but just look at the schedule for december, we can catch up
I think this is one of the problems some Rocket fans have. They have an emotional connection to one of our players and that causes them to overrate that player and overstate their skills, because IMO Luis Scola and Chris Bosh do not share the same skill set, and I think many other GM’s feel the same way. If this wasn’t the case, why was Chris Bosh courted so heavily by multiple teams during the free agency period and Scola wasn’t? I don’t know of one NBA team other than us that publicly expressed interest in Scola. I think I may have heard of some scant interest from NJ, but that was it. If these players had the same skill set, you would think that they would garner the same amount of interest during the free agency period. Second, IMO, in reference to these skills below; Low-post moves: Bosh > Scola (Scola has a lot of these herky-jerky, circus- type shots that don’t seem to work so well against an above-average defender) Athleticism: Bosh > Scola Jump shot: Bosh > Scola (Bosh has much nicer form. Scola will occasionally hit an outside shot, but usually he fires up too many ill-advised bricks.) Hustle: Bosh < Scola (Clearly hustle is Scola’s most endearing quality.) Rebounding: Bosh > Scola
I have an idea that makes the Rockets win 0.5 rate. 1. Turn on the TV when Rockets game starts. 2. Watch and enjoy the game. 3. Tricky part comes: Turn off the TV after 2nd quater. 4. Go to bed, and never check the full game results from any source. (5). May sometimes the Rockets have a huge lead after 2nd quater, one can choose to continue watching the rest of the game. but choose wisely, even with huge lead, you will never know what could happen, because its the Rockets. In this way, we all enjoy the game, and we never check the results, Rockets may win all the first halfs but lose after all at the end. but we will never know. after the full season is over, we watched all half of every game. there is the 0.5 rate.
Except that hill was doing well all game and RA still didn't know how to manage his minutes. Battier and C-bud are causing majority of our losses, a smarter coach would have: 1) inserted Jeffries at the 3 spot and benched Battier 2) moved courtney lee to the 3 spot, benched Battier and played JT at the backup sg spot. But we have rick the ruler. he still plays battier/c-bud combo and then guys like keep complaining about the terrible roster.
option 2 could have worked tonight against their smaller lineup...but something needed to change the at the 4 and 5 also, otherwise they would have still attacked the rim continously the first half of the 3rd qrtr to take the lead.
Wow, the Bobcats seemed very weak in the 1st half. I thought we would have had an easy win. I missed the 2nd half and boom, another loss.
The 15th and 16th picks are designated for playoff teams. I doubt we make the playoffs with a 42-40 record, this season. We didn't make it last season with the same record.
