43-24...maybe even 42-25 could get you the 8th spot. I think that's right around the most we can expect as a turnaround, so it could happen.
Why not blame Morey? He knew coming into this year, we needed rim protection. Hayes at the C was not going to work anymore. What does he go? Draft a PF in PP who's not even given a chance to show his wares up to now. Instead of get a Fesenko, he waits for Dampier and ends up not shoring up that position at all. He wants our defense to improve but he trades away Ariza. We need to get tall and athletic. Instead . . . So yes, who is to blame for this line-up as assembled?
it's a bit of coaching and it's a bit of the players. coaching can only hide a player's deficiencies to a certain extent. As much as Scola and Martin score, they give up just as much if not more. Martin puts more pressure on our bigs because his man always beats him to the paint. Now, once Martin's man beats him into the paint, Scola and Hayes are there - not exactly paint patrol at its finest. The same goes for Brooks and to an extent Lowry, although not as much as the latter.
Ahhh you raise a good question. I know one team that wouldnt cringe at Scola's contract. That would be the Miami Heat. Rethinking building around Bosh? Hmmm.
and if your guards are weak defenders, you better have a lock down front line, which the Rockets do not. It's a lose lose situation no matter which way you try to look at it. So is there a solution? Either beef up your front line or get rid of the guards. Take your pick. It's really the only viable solution at this point.
Yes!!! (?) is awesome! I have been following (?) since his playing days at ??? University, where he won the Naismith Outstanding Question Mark Award. I was surprised when (?) fell out of the top 5 in the lottery a few years ago. He was clearly a top-5 pick. I know that (?) has only made one All-Star Team so far, but I foresee many more All-Star appearances in his career. I just hope his current team will trade him to the Rockets for only Martin and Scola. Clearly, it appears that you would be willing to also throw in your reason and logic into any deal for (?).
Pretty crazy how nba2k11 in my game had the Rockets in the lottery this season. I didn't want to believe.... The light in the tunnel is that the Rockets went from lottery to top three in their division the next year.
Yeah, I understand the roster's flaws right now. But still, how often do you see a team have not one but TWO top-five scorers in the starting lineup and have one of the worst records in the NBA? Man, it's just weird to see.
Rockets have no shot at a championship right now or even a 1st round victory. I'd rather lose and get a high draft pick.
2k11 I am the Bulls, and the Rockets started off 0-7, bottom of the western conference, have made some roster moves trading for ben wallace for kyle lowry and grant hill for jordan hill either way, they are headed for the lottery....2k11 simulation was right on the dot with them....now im in early january and rockets are only ahead of twolves clippers kings
No the Morey haters who think the team record is largely his fault need to face reality. Morey built this current team around Yao, a Yao that would dominate both ends on the floor. That Yao is not here. Kick out Morey fine, that won't solve anything. He'll just go somewhere else and we'll be crying about it for years to come. People quickly forget Morey built a contending team when he bought in Ron. It's not his fault by the end of the season Ron was the only one healthy and trying to get his team to the WCF. Morey also built a playoff contender last year when he knew going in that Yao was not going to play at all. Yes, and it's not Morey's fault that RA decides to play Chuck Hayes over taller and longer players. All of said players were NEVER supposed to be a full time Center, just enough to back up Yao...who well..is not playing. Morey built this entire team around Yao, and i'm tired of people getting on the deals he made when everyone was raving about every one when he made them.
This is one of the funnier post since I joined the board in 2007, Bima is killing it. Didn't see the game so can't comment to anything except the boxscore but it doesn't look pretty. 4-16 is on the way and that would basically end the season 20 games in. December 15th should be the key date as it will become obvious changes are coming by then.
Time to dismantle this thing up... Scola and Martin need to be traded for young players and draft picks, both of these guys could put a team who's at the edge of contending over the top, so there's definitely teams that would want them... --RB
