I can understand your frustration, but Dalembert is terribly inconsistent and is not worth his contract.
No, we won't. Middle of the 1st round at best, and only if we really decide to tank the remaining games.
Yeah, I agree. It seems RA is not fond of double teaming the other team's best offensive player and would prefer to let them play one on one.............. We need better defensive schemes......
I don't know why, that's a plain truth. I've said several times the best way to defend that type of scorers is with a big man in the middle. Look at the Lakers. But the fact that we desperately need a true center is something we have known for months. But hey, we have superChuck Hayes and of course he's the man... so I guess we're fine.
Coach RA was out-coached. In the second half, when Larry Brown put pressure on the ball, RA could not come out with any reaction. Larry Brown made RA to take two of his best offensive players out of the game (Landry and Budinger), and aggressively double teamed AB, the game was over. The rockets could not find other ways to score. Actually there were no other ways. The most efficient scorers in this team, imo are AB, Landry, Scola and Bud. With two sitting, there was really not much offense that you can expect. Despite of his streaky 3-point shooting, I can not name anything that Ariza does decently as a SG. Whenever he had the ball, I crossed my fingers and hoped it would not become a turnover. He has to be the worst of all starting SGs in clock awareness, and free throw. Actually can someone please name some guards that shoot a lower percentage than Ariza from the line? Ariza should be shipped out, or his time and role should be significantly reduced. If Ariza is further expose, his trade value would drop a lot and sooner. I hope the McGrady trade would bring us a SG/SF who can score, and a PG that can spell a few minutes for AB and Lowry. We all have seen how on the ball pressure can force the rockets out of their game. I am always worried about an injury of our two PGs, especially Lowry with the way he is playing. If only one of our PG can suit up, then when he sits for a breather, the opponent could win the game in a hurry.
The problem with this game was obviously offense. Sure, better defense would've been good but the Rockets had a chance to win it and they couldn't. As always, what this team needs is a wing that can create his own shot and pass to others. Ariza, while I don't hold him at fault for this game, is not that guy...he is the guy sitting in the corner waiting to make the big 3 as the go-to guy drives in and dishes to him. This and RA's lack of double teaming is horrid.
We have completely abandoned our offense, we dont run anymore, we dont play defense, we keep giving the ball to Ariza.... The loss is not surprising.
AB stunk it up tonight with his shooting. And people blaming Ariza again is just crazy. 30- 3 point attempts tonight, we ain't winning if we don't hit at a 38-40% clip.
The Bobcats are second in the league in the points allowed per possession for a reason. They are a good defensive team, especially at home. The Rockets, for their part, are an average offensive team, and obviously less than average on the road. Put the two together, and you get tonight's second half.
We're missing our two best players and we're still much better than I ever thought possible. Chill...this is a transition year. Some good games, and some ugly losses like this. FYI we were a 3 1/2 pt underdog. Enjoy the ride.... D R
Poor coaching, no way you let Stephen Jackson keep shooting. Run a double at him after he lit us up in the first half. Come one Rick, the next closest scorer was Diow at 19... Also, the Bobcats starting playing rough and punking the smaller rockets. This got in the head of Ariza, Brooks, Landry, and Lowry. Just keep running and cutting and they can't get a hand on you.
scola was scoring w/ ease in the first half. we didn't go to him enough in the second. i thought that was one of the reasons we lost tonight. plus landry wasn't effective either. also, when ab is not scoring, he's not helping the team too much. oh well.
