I agree with u for once. Miller's contract has a option for the 3rd yr. If i were Pritchard, i wouldve dealt blake and signed a guy like atkins and make bayless the #2. Blake is just good enough to lose with and miller is still underrated as a pg,

Battier did Kobe a favor by standing in the corner shooting those inconsistent 3s. Energies saved for Mr. Bryant.
I'm not so sure you guys will still acknowledge him to be superior to Bruce Bowen had Battier not been on our team.

i usually only take a peek on this board in the off-season when not much is going on - like this year.

and yes, i was almost ready to take this season off - not because of yao, per se, but what can one expect out of a roster with its total payroll under 20mils? it's painful. call me a less passionate fan, but this year i am really down on the team, though i couldn't help but turn on the tv on time once the preseason starts.

btw, mbenga seems to have improved. saw him pull a mid range j in a preseason game that even jvg was surprised...

Not sure if this has been answered or even asked, but on nba.com it has Brian Cook listed as inactive for the Blazers game and I believe I saw him in a suit. What's going on with him? I know he's not a great player, but I thought Adelman might use him since he's a big guy. Another comment I wanted to say was I wish Dorsey could play when Oden is out on the court and Dorsey take Oden out like Oden did to Mutombo. Sorry just not a fan of Oden.

We could really use von wafer's aggressive mentality on the offensive end of the floor right about now.. how in the hell did morey let that kid go overseas knowing we had no firepower offensively?? carroll dawson would've locked his ass up for 3-5 years, and traded for j-rich while he was at it. i question morey's conservative approach sometimes... morey's soaked up every last ounce of fame and credit for the way he runs the show and his value of high iq, efficient, hard working players (battier and hayes most notably), but that's not going to cut it this year, maybe in '10-'11 when yao returns. time to nut up, and make some drastic changes. move #1: trade battier

This is a cliche that likes to be repeated for whatever reason.

Battier's purpose on the team is to play lock down D, be a vocal leader of the team and camp the corner so an open shot is available when Yao is doubled.

Nobody looked real exhausted out there guarding Ariza who is supposed to be everything Battier is but better.

Although i agree Shane should be more active than he was, i think the energy thing is bad reasoning. Kobe bryant would still be kobe Bryant if the game went 5 overtimes. The guy is not just a pro ball player, but one of the best, if not the best, of those pro players. Shane running around a bit more isn't going to affect kobe. Now if you expect shane to engage in a scoring dual with Kobe, well then i don't think that should be a knock on shane, that's just an unreal expectation.

Players that provide leadership and "intangibles" would be a good fit on any club, particularly young teams (which the Rockets now are). And I don't think Ariza replaces what Battier does on defense. Ariza has a lot he needs to improve on defensively.

As for your proposed trade for Outlaw/Bayless, I don't have a strong opinion on it either way but I'm not thrilled with it. Battier may not be a great fit for the current Rockets team, but neither is Outlaw. He's mainly a pull-up mid-range shooter, and he's a tweener defensively. He looks great some games, and non-existent other games (see: 2009 playoffs). Bayless would be a third string PG behind Brooks and Lowry. I'm not against trading Battier, but I'd hope for something more substantial. Fernandez would interest me.

I think theyre going to suck big time, but i will watch. They sucked after moses, dream and now, so i'll just stick in there.

I like mbenga 2 yrs ago. He's a hard worker and really appreciates playing ball. He wouldve been great as the heir to deke, but it never happened. Now we're starting a 6'5 guys at ceneter. Hayes wasn't the reason the lost tonight though.

So you want to give up the players that would work better with Yao, so we could hava better season this year? I hate to break it to ya, but wafer and j rich wouldn't win us a ring this year. Like cabbage's blog said, this team is about how it will fit with yao next year, this year is all about growth, not hanging a banner.

How come I can't get you to answer a question? How about this: Would you trade Battier for Outlaw plus a filler no matter who it is?

Also, a disturbing trend I've noticed on your part is your penchant for double and even triple posting. Try to gather and collect all your thoughts at once and respond to all the posts you would like to reply to collectively instead of double and triple posting.

@durvasa: If the Yao and T-Mac experiment continues, would you favor trading Battier for Stephen Jackson? I would. At this point in their careers, Jax is a better overall basketball player than Artest.

I disagree my friend. Outlaw is what they need going forward and he's not a tweener, he's a 3 man. Deal is, nate is just trying to maximize his lineups and create mismatches. That pull up mid range jimmy is money. Thats a shot the rockets have been missing even with a healthy yao and tracy.

Aside from Rajon Rando (21) & Paul Millsap (47), there isn't a player I would want that was drafted after Brandon Roy. That obviously includes Rudy Gay.

    Damn I feel like it's 2006 again.

They need guys that can play with and without yao, but i would rather have a guy that cn play without him since he's injury prone and gets taking out of game.

Nothing wrong about a fan expecting a player to score at least 10 pts a game given the fact that we traded a lotto pick for him.

What has the Spurs given up for Bowen and what has the Celtics given up for Posey?

You're right about this. Dude has been money on his mid-range jumper. You can tell he practiced a lot this summer. He was also 3-5 from 3 pt range.

It's funny, Ariza already has as many 4 turnover games as Wafer had all of last season.

the reason you can't get a reply is because I ALREADY ANSWERED IT before you even asked, just like all those times we argued about shane, you wanted me to constantly repeat myself then, i'm not going to start that now....

Let me know where clutch banned double and triple posting and then i'll consider it, until then i think you got much worse posting going on for you to worry about my posts.....i'm not surprised you used it to take a personal jab at me though....

He had that last yr. He's getting better and like i said before, he will be a solid 15-17 ppg guy. He's in his last yr also at 4m. Given his age and ability, someone is going to offer him about 7m per next yr.
