what did he do? I was surprised there were no altercations with all the fouling that was going on. Bayless and Lowry especially..

this team doesn't need tmac, ariza is a better passer, has better handles, can finish better, and most importantly a better scorer

Even though it was tough lose, I think I like the outcome of the game, Brooks was struggling and so did Ariza, we only lost by 1 pt, The other stacked with talent and we only lost by 1 pt, I think we played defensively but we always loose close games, the only reason is we don't have go to guy, Ariza is not the guy you can depend on him on games going down the stretch, bcuz he doesn't have great talent on the offensive end like Roy does, still 3-1 on a road trip not the bad.

We only need to improve on games going the stretch, other than that I really like how the team is looking so far.

P.S. I really felt bad for Greg Oden for the way he went down tonight wish him luck..

Yeah we lost cause we didn't have brandon roy. thats like saying the new jersey nets should beat the lakers, but since they didn't they did something wrong, its pretty obvious since they don't have as good enough players, as a result, they did alot of things wrong.

Do you think that if ariza didn't stop him from going left he would have done that? maybe ariza knew chuck was gonna be in the middle and was funneling him that way.

roy somehow turned his body in the air to make a ridiculous shot on chuck.

Bullard kept saying Ariza's D on Roy towards the end of the game was good, I beg to differ. I don't think Roy was hitting extremely difficult shots either, he just was able to beat Ariza and get to the basket every time.

I am tired of seeing the members of clutchfans saying that we need a "go-to" guy. I have been watching all season and I have seen Brooks, Landry, Scola, Battier and even Ariza hit some clutch shots for us. I have seen Brooks create some of those looks for those guys in the last minute.

I think Brooks in the past two years has won us more games than T-Mac has. I remember how frustrated I used to get in close games because T-Mac ALWAYS went to his jumper in the last minute and hardly EVER got the job done. The only time I can remember him really winning us the game was in San Antonio.

Landry hit some really clutch free throws and got us some buckets at the end and Scola got hit that mid-range jumper off of the pass from Brooks.

It's just you got one of the best clutch players in the NBA going against you in Roy.

So unless if we get Carmelo, Kobe, Dwayne, LeBron,... then expect to be consistently disappointed.

depends on what the goal is. need a "go to" guy for what?

i can't think of a team who didn't have a "go to" guy winning anything of note in NBA history.

the closest i can get to that is the 89-90 Pistons, who didn't have a player who averaged over 20 ppg. but they had this guy named Isaiah and another named Joe who are Hall of Famers, so the comparison kinda ends there.

I hate to say this but Artest on Roy would have been a better matchup. I doubt Roy can bully Artest into the basket. And on last night's game, Ariza's line sucked.

We see why Ron Artest said Brandon Roy is the best basketball player ever.

Or maybe Tmac thought they were supposed to switch when they were not supposed to. How do you know its usually drawn like that? If there was a pick then i can see them switching but Roy went straight up. Did you also notice in the play that Outlaw was in position to block Artest from going out there.

I, too, question AB's last shot. Did he miss because he was fouled ie contact? (arm and/or body?) Seems to me he was fouled and should have had FT shots.
But was overlooked because was last second of the game? That happens???

You do remember that Roy averaged about 26.5 points a game in the playoffs, including more then one or two 30-40 point games.

Artest is a very good defender, but like Battier, compared to the speed and youth of Roy, he is going to be a step to slow to lock him down. Ariza was the best bet on keeping him from going off.

Forget about the last play. The Blazers should never have been close enough to hit a game winning shot. Scola and Landry together in the 4th was the killer. Chuck didn't play the entire 4th except for that last possession. You can't do that. Chuck has to be in there with Landry or Scola at all times to pick up the defensive slack.

Adelman has fallen into a lull where he has Chuck to start the 1rst and 3rd quarters. You take the hottest player between Landry and Scola in the last 8 minutes of the game and you put Chuck with that player. You CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT play them both or it will come back to bite you.

really? I didn't realize that either Carl or Luis were given the defensive assignment to stop Brandon Roy. Hell, for that matter, I didn't realize that Chuck would have had the assignment if he was in the game.

I really thought it came down to poor defense from trevor on brandon, but what do i know.

The Rockets forced Roy to take some tough shots at the end and he just made them. That last circus shot of his is about as tough a shot you can give to Roy. The Rockets did good, but Roy did a bit better.
