To be fair, the only bad shots Rafer took were his floaters. He was CONSTANTLY left open, especially at the 3 point line, like Ariza. I will be shocked if Ariza averages a better shooting percentage than T-Mac had in his worst year as a pro. (Which obviously was last year, when Tracy shot .001 better than Trevor is shooting this year as an offensive option, even though he was on a bum leg)
Well to be fair he had just made a jumper before that, that was probably the play (on offense). On defense, neither McGrady or Artest guarded him, no clue what happenned there.
Artest was supposed to switch on the screen, that was how it is usually drawn. You can tell by T-mac signalling to Artest, T-mac was not to blame for that shot.
Post fail, unless you can provide an example of what you saw that was so blatantly wrong and how it should have been done down the stretch. Moe
We didn't lose the game down the stretch, in every loss, there are a number of factors that go into the loss. The main factor for this game was a: many flops being called, b: scoring droughts in the third and fourth quarters that allowed them to come back, and take the lead.
I'm just disappointed that they won without Oden and Outlaw. Don't forget Aldridge (who wasn't playing 100%) because of his injury. I felt that we could of had it. Damn you Roy!!!!!
i can't stress enough that it wasn't perfect d against roy. He did what he wanted. Just because trevor stepped in front of his first move doesn't meant he stopped him from making the move he wanted. Roy dictated everything, watch the replays and see he did the same thing, drive left, cross and go center. Every time. That's his game. The one time he was on the right side, he drove right, crossed to the center. He created enough space to rise upf or his 20 footer, but why do that when he kept getting to the rim on ariza at the end? Atl has more shooters/scorers/weapons than this team. You stay at home with them, you double roy. They don't have outlaw or rudy or oden, 3 of their top 5 scorers.
Sorry, my post was sarcastic regarding what could have been done differently. Thats what the  was for. I am on your side in this, there wasnt much that the team could have done differently. I mean, sure looking back in hindsight you could suggest this or that. But at the time, the decisions made by the players and staff seemed pretty sound.
You have 4 other guys on the floor with Roy who can nail an open jumpshot. Exhibit A: Andre Miller 3rd quarter
In a close game, the game's often won and lost on the free throw line. If Lowry made even one of his two free throws during the mid 4th q, we'd be headed to overtime
Carl Landry's best game by far. I am not mad we lost, because we won something at the same time: Rick Adleman's appreciation of Carl Landry playing in the 4th quarter.
Exhibit A became irrelevant after they put battier back on him, he stayed on him like glue in the 4th. That leaves you with aldridge, bayless, and blake. I'll take my chances with bayless since he's practically a rook with little experience. Blake is a set shooter. Aldridge is who i've bee worried about the most, but i'll take a contest aldridge jumper over a roy layup, even if it's "off balanced" anytime. It only looks off balanced to us, roy's been there done that. If anything you funnel roy to the baseline, let landry/chuck cut him off and double him there. Let him pass off, after 3 or 4 straight buckets you can't just let him keep going to work..
