Glad I'm not the only one who sees that the Referees and the NBA shipped Game 5 to Portland in a gift-wrapped box.

When we were up by 4 we should have left the starters in the game to finish it out until we got a decent enough lead. Should have gone in for the kill at that point rather than a breather.
no way we can blame the refs for that poor 4th quarter. it didn't help...but rockets didn't play well. rockets lost this game straight up. anyone claiming the refs cost us the game...you are full of it. take that garbage to the blazers forum.
Thanks Refs, thanks for Game 6. someone needs to make some signs in Game 6 calling out the refs. bunch of r****ds if you ask me.
we need to stop blaming the ref. Ref sux but complaining about them aint going to win us games. Just go out there and play thru it. I blame the collapsed on RON RON and AB. Someone really need to tell RON stop jacking up crazy assssss shots.
Do yo think the reason why we lost Game 2 and Game 5 was because it was broadcasted on NBA TV, instead of being on TNT or ESPN?
Thanks BaiHua for the links. Man, Adelman sounded seriously pissed about the mistakes made in the beginning of the fourth quarter. It sounds heat of the moment, but still, that's as close as I've heard him to calling out certain players for a loss. Thinking back on the game, I think our young guys - Brooks, Lowry and Wafer - especially got rattled by the pressure of trying to close out on the road. Hopefully, the hometown atmosphere will charge them back up in Game 6.
The refs made a couple of bad calls but not enough to change the game. We did not deserve to win this game. After the last game when I praised the Rockets for working hard, playing defense and playing together, we came out with a stinker from many players. Ron ron did not go completely crazy on offense but did throw up some prayers. On defense, he did not look like he wanted to fight thru picks and chase Roy like I know he could. In a position where we should be better, AB got outplayed by Blake. I had high hope for AB but he has not learned to play his position. Don't compare him to a scoring PG like Parker. Tony can score, assist and set up his teammates. AB is simply a player who can score, sometimes. He is approaching Stevie's status and that is not good. Yao was so so, he got doubled a lot but got single coverage at times. Not a bad performance but not enough from a super star. Scola shot the ball well but I think he caused the log jam at the post too much. He also fouled a bit much trying to front his man. Battier did all he could but he couldn't do much. Landry is still MIA and a fouling machine, 5 fouls in all, 3 of them in less than 2 minutes in the crucial 4th quarter. Hayes did not have court time. Wafer was pretty good, wish he can play defense so we can put him in for Artest when he went ballistic. Lowry had good and bad moments. The game was there for the taking, only if we had made a couple of plays. Now the pressure is on us to win game 6. Not winning it means going back to Portland. Not a bright prospect.
Yao needs to change to get the ball, he should realise that o shoot in 1st qtr was his own fault not his teamates and coach.
So far, Ron has been a big disappointment: he can't guard or slow down Roy, and the worse part is that he can't score and shot low fg%. Aron shot well in the first two games, and he is now completely lost on the court and forgets what position he plays, plus bricks too much. Landry has been hesitating and no energy/no dunks any more. Coach doesn't know how to run offense. It seems our players are running the show by themselves.
As bad as Brooks played last night. And as little as Artest did for the team offensively. The whole team screwed themselves in the fourth when our defense went to crap. Even Scola, who was great for most of the night, made a defensive error that allowed a Blazer to get to the basket. Aside from the lack of offense in the 4th, we let a sick Roy beat us up in the last quarter. Dude is a great player but Jordan he is not.
Tough lose and it can only go up from here...we'll see how we respond which IMHO, I know we'll close it out at home... Just saw the highlights with Hannah...Loved how she said that Game 6 will be played in "Clutch City"...nice...
This is my point about the rockets and have been for awhile. If u know anything about basketball, u will understand what I'm saying. If you build around Yao, u have to be sure that you have guys that can get their own shot off the dribble. I say this because late in games, there will be junctions when the defense can take yao out the game and the guys that need him to get a shot. The 2 players that really rely on yao is scola and shane. Early in the game, the blazers were content on giving scola those jumpers and he nailed them. The residue from that was they still allowed Yao to manuever, but stayed close to shane. As the game moved on, they adjusted to a game 2 late game startegy which was to front and slightly tilt to yao, stay close enough to shane and scola. The rockets only have 3.5 guys that can get their own shot or get to the rim. Before all this started I asked the question of how comfortable people were with the game being decided by artest, lowry, brooks and wafer. Those are the only guys that don't need yao to get a shot. In the end, regardless of what some of you think or hope, this has never been a championship caliber team. They have little to no flexibility. Their pg's and pf's are the same in size and game, their center can be easily taken out the game. So yall can make brooks the new tracy or the new goat, but if u just look at it from basketball sense, the blazers have more talent just as utah had more talent. The only thing that will save houston is the blazers are a young team. The rockets can still close this team out at home, then they will proceed to get destroyed by La. Call me whatever, i'm just telling the truth.
Everyone seems to blame Ron and AB for the Rockets problems but to me, the blame seems to fall on our number 1 scoring option down low who cannot get post position and a coach who has been here for 2 years and in the NBA coaching business for 20 years who cannot find a way to counter a fronting defense. We all knew Artest and Brooks were inconsistent players but they cannot be our #1 option. To me, Yao is not a option you can go to when he is fronted because that is a turnover waiting to happen. That is why AB and Artest are taking all of these forced shots.
people really need to rewatch the game if you think Yao doesnt have position in the post. Seriously! I agree the problem exist during game 2 but I've been thru every home game and about 9 out 10 yao doesnt get the ball because they abandon the post play.
