How about we stop trying to blame individual players...

It was a tough game tonight. Besides Yao and Scola, our guys weren't hitting the shots they've been hitting all series long. We played too fast in crunch time, and the Blazers hit the shots to seal the deal.

Time to regroup, reload, and go back at them on Thursday.

I agree with this. How can Brooks do his job as PG when Artest is dribble, dribble, dribble, kill all offensive ability to run smoothly.

Maybe it's unfair to say this, but it didn't seem like we played as hard as we could have. For most of the night, we played like a team that was up 3-1 and had the luxury to lose this one. They pushed and pushed hard, but we didn't push back.

Guess it was expected, but still disappointing to see.

Since when in any basketball game, especially in a playoff game, do 10 boards ever don't matter? Especially when you are game high man in rebounds?

aron brooks dribbled way more than artest today, consider artest only took 9 shots as compared to 20 for aron brooks, that's not doing his pg job

Artest was 5-20 last game and the Rockets were LUCKY enought thanks the mistakes the blazers made to somehow win.

how the heck does Yao NOT demand the ball? are u watching the same game as we are?....he is BEING SANDWICHED, guy is front up and guy in the back. its hard to get yao the ball, yao is not quick or explosive.

Im not saying they did not matter. What im saying is that Yao cannot tap the boards he has to GRAB them . I saw too many balls sail over Yao's head. If he is not scoring there are other ways Yao can impact the game.

I want to see Yao take his game to another level (if possible).

    Go Rockets

We blame individual players when blame is due. Brooks played like a man who made a bet against his own team. Landry played like a rookie who just got called into his first game. He also may have been gambling against his own team.

If Yao didn't grab any defensive boards, those could have led to potential baskets and thus, we woulda gotten smoked tonight. You have to admit that it's also Adelmans duty to enforce the idea that this is in fact Yao's team, Brooks doesn't seem to buy into that concept, Yao DOES demand the ball and if he does get the ball in most cases he delivers. Don't compare Yao to Duncan or Hakeem because their teammates (SPECIFICALLY POINT GUARDS) respect that they are the Marquee players, unfortunately the guy responsible for feeding the ball to Yao is a ball hog that dribbles more than Stevie.

I understand but Yao is just going to have to fight through double teams and IMPACT the game on the defensive end.

IMO Scola is the only one who came to Portland to close out the series.

Yeah. Brooks could totally school Stevie on the fine art of dribbling out the shot clock.
