Alright everyone, it is nobody's fault. The loss goes to the team. Games aren't won on the final possession it doesn't take rocket science to know that. Yes, it hurts that we lost on a Buzzer Beater, but we could have prevented that If we rebounded and some of our players play slightly better. The loss goes to the team and we have to move on.
Could Tmac have made more of a defensive effort? Definitely. Do we blame Tmac for the loss? Absolutely not. Aside from the fact that he scored 30 points shooting 50% from the field, dished it out 7+ times and rebounded 6+, blaming Tmac for this loss because he didn't close out on Roy would be like the opposing team blaming their PG for not closing out on Rafer at the 3 point line. Roy from that distance with his back facing the basket is not a high threat to score. And here's how I know you are a hypocrite. If Roy misses that shot, instead of "Tmac blew this game for us" you guys would've been saying "Tmac forced him to take a 27 footer." And here's another real life example. Remember when Novak hit the game winning 3 against Sacramento last season? There was about 1-2 seconds left on the clock, and the last play Sacremento ran ended in a Brad Miller 3 point attempt that wasn't contested. He missed it and I've never once heard "oh, we didn't close out on Brad Miller, thats bad defense" when people talk about that game. You know why? Because its Brad ****ing Miller. If he hits that 3 its a fluke.
Plus Roy is only a 33% three point shooter this year. T-Mac played great. This wouldn't even be a game if Yao wasn't contained by Joel Przybilla
Its not just that. ANYONE would have a hard time sinking a turn around 3 point shot from 27 feet out. Let alone a guy that isn't known as a 3 point threat. We're talking maybe a 10-20% chance of him making that shot. I'd bet you anything thats why Tmac didn't follow him out there at first. Because in the back of his mind he was thinking "the threat isn't from 27 feet out its the guy that gets open inside the 3 point line". I know you agree with me and I'm still responding with paragraph long responses, but it just irritates me how Roy made the biggest fluke of a shot this year (even flukier than Yaos 1 handed backwards and-1 flip shot), and instead of the appropriate "wow, lucky shot" response its "****ing Tmac lost the game for us".
OMg... .8 sec...is not enough to catch the balll..turn around..jump..and release the ball at the highest point. BULL S***...the leauge should review the shot over. WE clearly won taht game!
Actually, upon review, they said the shot took like 23 frames, which is equivalent to a third of a second, so whatever. Nevertheless, there definitely was some discrepancy in the time-keeping... but these things happen. If we were truly the better team last night, there would have been no overtime. Hopefully Yao will get over his shooting slump quickly.
disgusting game from the rox. Took a circus shot for them to lose and some vodoo clock management. But they should never have let it get to that.........
Man Yao we need you to be the dominant offensive force you are. He had two bad games right now. Then again its still early in the season I still can't believe Roy got off a shot like that!....
he was 30 feet away! I bet if T-mac would of been in his face gaurding him and would of foul, it'd be his fault too. He scored 30 points! Thanks t-mac for scoring 30 points and bringing us back in the 4th quarter. You suck. WTF? I know some people are mad, but new flash IT WAS A MIRACLE HE MADE THAT.
T-Mac played great on offense. On defense he was sporadic. He had some good steals but also some great matador plays. And that last play was a screw-up, no matter how you cut it.
Yao is playing like dog **** right now, T-Mac can't play Defense to save his life. Aaron Brooks is attempting to be the version everybody thinks badly of Allen Iverson. What's next? Artest going back to his old days?
wow everyone is really overreacting...we all knew that it would take time for this team to get where it wants to be. We're still waiting for shane to come back and they're trying to get some chemistry goin...just calm down
how so? we're expected to be championship contenders when we can't contain Rudy Fernandez and Travis Outlaw? we're not overreacting... we just keep comparing ourselves to champions... well... we're not starting the season 15-0 like we did in 94-95. we're not starting the season 8-0 like the Celtics did last year we're not exactly thrilled because we play poorly against teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder championship teams play like champions, and so far we're anything but yes, Shane Battier is a great defensive player but he's just one player maybe we'll pick up the pace late winter / early spring, but that's always been the trend since we've had t-mac in '04-'05... why can't we just win games the whole season instead of always playing catch up? don't tell me it's because of trying to keep players like yao from getting injured, that's bull I honestly think yao would have a less chance of getting injured if we played good ball the whole season rather than playing mediocre ball the first half of the season, and then killing yao in a streak the second half of the season for good playoff position we still have 77 games left in this season, so let's start playing like we actually have 3 all-stars on our team!
i was just tryin to stay calm but ur right they definately need to step up their game. tonight vs the clips would be nice
Ask yourself, When is the last time i saw a clutch shot 2+1? and less than 1 sec left.. i donno what to say guys.. i feel happy..
Dude calm downn...its barly the 5th game of the season. Why are all you guys gettin so down. I mean we have many new additions to the team..just remeber PERFECTION takes time. With Adversity comes thriumpt... and with time carbon turns to DIAMOND.
