i was so so so so pissed i was completely speechless. over an hour after the the game had ended, i still can't calm down. yao's "suckiness" right now makes me, a huge yao fan, feel so tough to defend him. no bounce in his steps and every move, seemingly no confidence either. i don't know why he's been playing the way he has the last couple of games. i just hope it's not something physically we don't know about. ron has been sucking on his shooting, too. biggest problem - rebounding. and it's really a team-wide thing, not only yao. gotta be our biggest worry. i know we give up some size and athleticism, but come on, the effort is not totally there. and wtf is wrong with the defensive setup of the last play? i know the clock wasn't right, but that was out of our control. no matter how adelman had designed the play, the execution is so pathetic and wasn't halfway as decent as what could've been if jvg was still here. maybe when shane comes back, our defense will be much in sync again. maybe mcgrady recovers fully and plays on both ends. maybe ron finds a way to not try too hard so he has energy left on offense. maybe yao will be healthy and figure out again how to be the centerpiece of the offense. maybe. but as a fan i'm worried right now. after 5 friggin' games. maybe i need to go bed now and tomorrow i will feel a little better.
we just played horribly. we are definitely the better team. i was surprised it went to OT. a horrible game for rockets. althought it was a lucky shot by roy. we just HAVE to bounce back in LA. we need to go 2-0 in LA.
It's no wonder we lost the game. We have won the first three games with a dynamic yao, but it's no possiblity for the rockets to win any game with a " sucking yao ". Yao had to suck in the two games because he has run out through the first three wins. We lost in rebound by12, mainly because of yao's bad condition. but yao doesn't deserve to blame to the lose in all, it's morey and les who should feel regretful. We need a center to back up yao, we do need to get yao a backup or his foot is gonna break down sooner or later in the season. there are 77 games left so it's not too late for morey to take some measures.
After how horrible we played throughout the game, I wanted this game so bad! That lucky ass shot by Roy brought on my rage, and I actually punched a hole in my wall. Now I have to pick up a sheet of drywall tomorrow and do some repairing.
Do you also remember the time when we were tied 90-90 and we had possession? TMac went for an alley-oop and missed. On both defensive AND offensive ways, he didn't do something that would've allowed him to take charge of the team once again. Offensively by missing that shot -- he would've done a better job if he did a jumper at the FT line. Defensively by letting that last shot go off without an attempt to block -- this will be played as one of many plays for this season's highlights, downplaying Rockets' pride. TMac should be humbled... TMac is better than this.
i feel like half of u missed the end of the game if u believe roy just ran out caught tha ball with no1 chasing him. they obviously set screens to get him that shot and tmac nd artest were both there to contest
start of the season...Yao and Artest being integrated into the system. 4 pt loss to the celtics and a 2pt loss to Portland..They beat Dallas and umm **** teams memphis and oklahoma by good margins. Our offense his sputtering atm. Rememeber this team does not know how to play with Yao again he missed last 3rd of last season. Yao is back, we have Artest and its looking like Brooks is actually becoming a good point guard. Give the team some time before throwing it under the buss like some did before the 22 games streak. We did well for the situation last year. If we can go into the playoffs with this team without injuries we are going places!
No, I do not blame TMac. However, that doesn't mean he shouldn't be humbled by this game. The game we brought was just not enough. It is clear to me that we have so much talent, but at the same time, not enough. I blame the entire team. A missing back-up center (another 7-footer) is important to note as well, as Yao was always exhausted and Scola just couldn't do anything against the bigger men on the other team. I commend the Rockets' effort (all individually for each of the players and especially for Yao for being a clutch shooter), but that's as far as I'd go.
I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this game. Roy made a great shot at the end and the rox lost. Plain and simple. What I do want to talk about is the pink elephant in the corner. I've been talking about this for awhile now. The team lacks flexibility at the 4/5 spot. The 4 spot is manned by 3 guys who are photocopies in terms of measurments and their abilities are not extreme enough to really make them super effective. Scol always have trouble with tall, atheletic types. Landry is good, but his defense is questionable. Hayes is great in the post, but is a 0 on offense and is smaller than the other 2. Scola or Landry needs to go. They're too much alike and vring basically the same things. Aldridge always kill scola. That 6'10 combo guy to play 4/5 shouldve been addressed this summer. Pryzbilla seem to play yao well, but yao needs to find a way to contribute. Barry sat on the bench in Sa, now yall know why he played 14 a night in in sea.
Do you realize what an oxymoron your statement is? You are blaming the guy who kept us in the game. If he wasn't there you wouldn't even have a last second shot by Roy to complain about. You know T-mac is still hurting...playing lock down defense is beyond him at this point, but he did all he could to get us that W. Instead of blaming him why don't you blame, I dunno, the players who actually cost us the game
It wasnt Rick's fault. We got what we wanted..it was a miracle shot from near midcourt. It wasn;t like Roy scored through an alley-oop or anything. jeez.
Very great shot(s) for Roy. But... we could have avoided overtime. We can't shift our gear every game during the last minutes of the 4th quarter. We have no intensity from the beginning. That's how we were trailing by 10. Sure, it's great that we can come back easily from 10, but we should be dominating right now and trying to rest Tracy as much as we can. (and Yao)
dunno if it has been posted yet but ESPN's daily dime are saying it took Roy 1.6 seconds to get the shot off and the buzzer didn't sound until 2 seconds after the ball was in play. Pretty amazing that you could have someone mess up their job so badly at such a high level in such an important situation. But still should of never let themselves be in the position to lose like that.
The main things hurting the Rockets right now are being too short, i.e., they can't get even simple rebounds, and there's absolutely no chemistry at all. They can't consistently stop anyone on defense and on offense there's not enough movement and passing. They'll be okay in the long run but in the short term they're going get humiliated by a lot of teams, especially with this harsh early schedule.
