As he plays more and more, Hill will be exposed for what he is which is not very good. That's why I found all of the JHill talk amusing. Already I'm seeing the gleeping that had been directed at Hill is now turning toward Williams as the savior which is par for the course around here. And wow! How fickle it has become around here. Folks couldn't wait to bury/trade/bench Hayes in favor of Hill but now after seeing just how bad he is, I'm seeing folks clamour for Hayes. Again, par for the course around here.
I guess that's one of the reason TWill still can't get minutes behind Cbud, not knowing when to take a shot. CBud knows that, all he needs to do is making them. And his defensive rotation is also bad at this moment. That is to be expected though.
Got that name from my college days in Pittsburgh. The black neighborhood in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh is called "The Hill" which is where all of the black students hung out. But seriously, if you followed my posts, I have been let's say LESS than impressed with the likes of Hill, Jeffries, Williams, Budinger, et. al. from the start. Hence, I find it amusing that folks were clamouring for Hill over Hayes are now backing off as he gets exposed.
To DM, just get a solid center, please. Brooks is once again showing his lack of composure when things get bad on the court. The whole team was bad tonight though.
1st time in a long time that we were not ready to play...you cannot expect them to be ready every night. playing at home on new years eve, then the long trip to dreary portland...i guess we should have expected it. the rockets dont give two bad efforts in a row usually. rick will have them ready for a great bounce back effort!!!
LOL. And coaches didn't have a good game plan as well, especially for defending those back door cuts.
I thought we came out ready. The offense was looking hot midway through the first quarter. i think it's just Portland is still a good team without Roy. LMA is hard to match up with, and Patty Mills made Aaron Brooks his meat patty.
It's OK. To be honest, I fully expected this to happen tonight. This team as currently constructed is not good enough to consistently beat a bigger, more athletic team. They remind me of those old Mavericks teams that where jumpshooting, no defense teams. This is a "live by the three, die by the three" team that I don't feel matches up very well against the competition in the West. I watched the Dallas- SA game on Thursday night and I saw two teams playing at a level that this Rockets' team has yet to reach. SA simply amazes me in how they have managed to retool their team around a Tim Duncan who is clearly on the decline while the Rockets continue to stumble and bumble along. Well, they feasted on sub .500 teams in December but now they play the teams that they must beat in order to make the playoffs and I expect them to be exposed. So, as you see, nothing really bums me out about them any more.
Well, they need to figure it out b/c we play them again in a few days. Portland is playing with a sense of urgency and making their case as a playoff team. They already won the tie-breaker with the Suns and beat out Utah twice.
Wrong. This is the second time in a row where the starting unit "was not ready". The first time we got bailed out by our bench and a weak opponent. My question for you is: what has changed? HINT: Its got braids growing out of it.
