Pretty obvious where the gameplan clash is coming from

"Egos and pride" versus "effectiveness, efficiency and flow"

Dwight's offensive decline and how to approach it is the single greatest source of the 2015-16 Rockets inconsistency.

Forget about the playoffs, if the incoming coach doesn't address this issue explicitly, the Dwight-Harden era is over. And contrary to the narrative, I don't believe it has to do with them "liking" one another.

DWight, be more like Deandre Jordan, less like Dream. Be a clean up guy, get glass, and get nice put backs. Maybe that should be your focus.

He was doin fine in the 1st half when they were dishing and lobbing the ball to him, im sure he was fine wit that. Why did they stop doing that in the 2nd half?

Capela used to get the same lobs last season, now he doesnt get the ball, period. Why did they stop?

I don't know if you guys saw this, but in the first half of game 4, there was a sequence that solidified my perspective on Dwight's behavior (and the team's success) this year.

During that extended sequence of Harden to Dwight alley-oops, there was one particular alley that got Harden fired up. The camera caught it briefly, but while everyone was running back to the other side of the court, Harden jumped up on Dwight's back and started slapping him excitedly.

Dwight responded immediately by turning back the clock into Orlando MVP-candidate Dwight.

    Here's the clip: http://on.nba.com/1VUIlbn

Bottom line, he NEEDS to be loved and appreciated. Harden certainly can't be that guy for him 24/7. I believe Mchale and Parsons filled in that role previously.

If this is going to work, we need another vocal leader (aka "babysitter") for Dwight or risk another disappointing season

Good move by Dwight to try to get out ahead of some of the criticism that will come his way this offseason.

Now when he's a free agent asked about his lack offensive production, he can just blame the Rockets' offense/players/org. Hell you already have a ton of people in the media asking - every f***ing day - "Why isn't Dwight getting the ball more???"

The answer, of course, is because he can't do much with it. But for now that obvious point seems to be missed by TNT/ESPN talking heads.

usually if something if very effective like a lob or a dish to a big man under the rim, you keep milking it. like the Josh to Dwight lobs last playoffs.

1st half of this last game Dwight was pretty involved, PLUS we had their bigs in foul trouble. Why not keep doing what worked in 1st half? Instead of whatever we did 2nd half.

I haven't analyzed that 2nd half, but I imagine the reason is that GSW adjusted defensively and started demoralizing us from the 3PT line

When Bev when out the defense stop chasing guys off the 3pt line and doing an overall good job on defense. The Warriors not only hit a record amount of 3s but put on a transition show. No chance for a decent half court set on offense when you're all shookin' up. That's what happened.

    We don't want Dwight back.

We certainly don't want Dwight back if we have to "babysit" him.

I would agree. They started bombing from 3 and it looked (to me) like we panicked and started trying to do the same, instead of sticking to what worked for us in the first half.

    I disagree.

When Ariza gets the ball he needs to do one of two things.

A.) If open shoot the ball.
B.) If not open pass it.

Anything else he does usually results in a turnover.

Which to my point, Mchale saying he doesn't want the ball is bull

That's a direct indictment on the coaching staff, and how little control and understanding they have of their players.

Let's be clear on how he got his easy buckets in the 1st half. They we all due to perimeter play and penetration to draw Dwight's man away for alley-oops and uncontested dishes right at the rim.

Those plays are what a coach like Kerr would scream at his team to stop. And they did. For Dwight and fans to blame that on not going to Dwight in the 3rd for ulterior motives is a misleading narrative and completely ignores Kerr's adjustments to stop penetration and dish/alley-oop.

Maybe one of Dwight's scores in the 1st half was due to a post-up, the rest was in the flow of the offense to dislodge his defender (much like the Dallas series last year). A good defense should make that harder for us...and Kerr adjusted. Plus, we threw away several transition opportunities in that 3rd Q run....which kinda makes it hard to run a post-up play, ya think.

Bad question by the media, and worse response by Dwight. It's like they don't know that we didn't really post-up Dwight in the 1st half...for his buckets.

Ariza has been awful. We need a starting 1, 3 and 4.
